Prentice A. Cantrell
64 year old Prentice A. Cantrell of Smithville died Thursday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was a contractor and painter and he attended the Coopers Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. B.J. Thompson and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lee and Ona Young Cantrell; brothers, Jewel, J.W., and Joe Cantrell; sisters, Carmine Poss and Nancy Humphrey. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Wilma Cantrell of Smithville. Three children, Anthony and his wife Penny Cantrell, Angela and her husband Bobby Johnson, and Shannon and his wife Tonya Cantrell all of Smithville. Nine grandchildren, Jacob and Elicia Cantrell, Kaylee and Levi Cantrell, Ian, Isabella, Garrett Johnson, Steven, and Bradley Barrett. Seven brothers, Doyce Cantrell, Lewis and his wife Wanda Cantrell, Than Cantrell, Elmus and his wife Gladys Cantrell, McClure and his wife Pam Cantrell, John and his wife Nell Cantrell, and Morgan Cantrell. Four sisters, Janice and her husband Johnny Martin, Hilda and her husband Floyd Corley, Nell and her husband Joe Fly, and Joan Harrelson; and sister-in-law, Frances Cantrell. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
