87 year old Hilda Ray Patrick of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker, a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church, and the American Legion and Woodsmen of the World. She also supported her husband’s military career all over the world for 30 years. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia on September 11th at 9:00 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Aaron and Lillie Adcock Odom; two sisters, Ova Mai Vaughn and Dean Ceiszko; two brothers, Gentry and Elgard Odom and a daughter-in-law, Caryn Patrick. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Robert “Bill” Patrick of Smithville. A son, Richard Patrick of Texas. A granddaughter, Robin and Brian Patrick of Texas. Two sisters, Nona Dell Wheeler of Florida and Jean and Edwin Andereck of Cookeville. Three sisters-in-law, Dorthy Odom of Smithville, Margaret Ellen Thieme and Grace Louise Patrick both of California. One brother-in-law, Michael Allen Patrick of Arkansas. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has asked that all donations please be made to the Smithville First United Methodist Church Building Fund, in lieu of flowers.
