74 year old Jimmy Walls of Smithville died Monday at his residence. He was a retired U.S. Mail Carrier and a member and Chairman of the Deacons at the Mount Herman Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dave Carden will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Falson and Ester Childers Walls; brothers, Frank, Jr., Rufus, and JVan Walls; and sisters, Willie White, Annie Hendrixson, Jennie Tramel, and Geraldine Walls. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marie Walls of Smithville. A son, Steven and his wife Susan Walls of Mississippi. Three grandchildren, Christina, Kimberly, and Christopher Walls of Mississippi and two sisters, Betty Sandlin and Erlene and her husband Charles Olson all of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that donations be made to the Mount Herman Baptist Church Building Fund, in lieu of flowers.
