76 year old Thelma Jean Brazier of Smithville died Tuesday at NHC. She was a homemaker. The funeral will be Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Larry Steffee will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Jim Brazier; her parents, Harlan and Vina Barks Bates; her step-mother, Maude Bates; and a brother, Homer Bates. Survivors include a son, James and his wife Dora Brazier of Smithville. One grandson, James Brazier, Jr. of Georgia. Great granddaughter, Mackenzie Brazier of Georgia. Step great granddaughter, Suzanne Freeman and Perry Hines of Nashville. One step grandson, Jay Freeman of Nashville. One brother, Harlan and his wife Frances Bates of Smithville. Three sisters, Kathy and her husband, Ernie Edge, Louella and husband Eddie Stanley, and Ethal Pinegar all of Smithville and a special niece, Thelma Ruth Martin of Smithville.
