85 year old Will E “Bill” Midgett of Dowelltown died Thursday at his residence. He was a retired owner of the DeKalb Drive-In Theater and a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Donald Owens will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Vera Hobbs Midgett; his wife, Ella Midgett; a grandson, Eric Midgett; a sister, Tavie Woosley; and a brother, Carl Midgett. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy and his wife Lou Ann Midgett of Dowelltown and John and his wife Pamela Midgett of Alexandria. One daughter, Doris and her husband Benny Watts of Carthage. Three grandchildren, Jennifer and Frank Meyers of Lebanon, Mary Ann and Chris Smithson of Smithville, and Robin Watts of Carthage. Unborn great grandson, Morgan James Smithson of Smithville and a sister, Gladys Windell of Lebanon. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
