96 year old Myrtle Cope West of Smithville died Monday at NHC Health Care Center. She was a member of the Mount View Primitive Baptist Church and a factory worker. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Lynn Russell and Paul Violet will officiate and burial will be in Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hastle Cope; her second husband, Cleve West; parents, Elder Felix and Mary Luna Cantrell; a daughter Maxine Briggs, a grandson, Barry Cope; and ten sisters; and three brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria and her husband Aaron Webb and Betty Jones of Smithville. A son, Grady and his wife Kay Cope of Tullahoma. Grandchildren, Connie and husband David Parsley of Smithville, Donna Cripps of Smithville, Suzanne and husband Richard Williams of Dowelltown, Jim and wife Marlann Reynolds of Hermitage, Melinda and husband Chris Blocker of Smithville,Tim Cope of Smithville, Kayla Cope of Tullahoma, Gina and husband Jimmy Lewis of Smithville, and Amy Keith of Smithville. Twenty one great grandchildren, eighteen great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews survive. Donations may be made to the Jefferson Cemetery.
