Lorene Malone Bates

80 year old Lorene Malone Bates of Watertown died Tuesday at the Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon. She was a factory worker and a DeKalb County native. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Bates; a daughter, Shirley Dutton; parents, Ed and Mary Christian Malone; and sisters, Maggie Cooper and Bobbie Stacy Derting. Survivors include a granddaughter, Laurie Southard and Barrett Tipton of Alexandria. A great grandson, Caleb Tipton. A son-in-law, Jerry Wayne Dutton of Alexandria. Nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown is in charge of the arrangements.
