88 year old Mildred H. Vandygriff of the Gassaway Community died Thursday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was a homemaker. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Sycamore Baptist Church, where she was a member for 75 years. Richard Williams will officiate and burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home. The body will then be taken to the church for the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Winfred Vandygriff; her parents, Thomas Monroe and Bettie Ferrell Hancock; a son, William Dwight Vandygriff; and two brothers, Walbert and Turney Hancock. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and her husband Jimmy Ramsey of Gassaway and Winona and her husband Steve West of Murfreesboro. Grandchildren, Donnie and Dennis Ramsey, Dana Clark, Megan West and Kristin Brock. Great grandchildren, Austin, Alex, Dalton, and Cassie Ramsey.
