78 year old Roy Mason Trapp of Smithville died Friday at his residence. He was a member of the Buckners Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of the I.A.M. Local 735, and a retired Aircraft Mechanic with Avco. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Ronald Whited, Vincent Baker, and Phil Tollett will officiate and burial will be in the Burton-Ponder Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Roy and Luella M.Caplinger Trapp; brothers, Donald and Johnny Trapp; and a sister, Oleada Duke. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Illene Trapp of Smithville. Four children, Dennis Mason and his wife Angelia Trapp of Smithville, Timothy Wade and his wife Sandra Trapp of Smithville, Kathy Diane and her husband Joey Goodwin of Smithville, and Michael Jerome and his wife Kristi Trapp of Oak Ridge. Grandchildren, Jeremy Trapp, Joseph Trapp, Wesley Young, Grant Goodwin, Katelyn Goodwin, Solomon Trapp, and Silas Trapp. A great grandchild, Hannah Paige Trapp. A brother, Boyd Trapp of Smithville. Sisters, Lou Audrey Malone of Dowelltown, JoAnn Baker of Smithville, Peggy Agee of Smithville, and Judy Johnson of Liberty. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
