Gordon Lee Summers

68 year old Gordon Lee Summers of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was a foreman with the Corps of Engineers and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annell Summers; his father, John Lee Summers; and a brother, Albert Lee Summers. Survivors include his mother, Kenzada Summers. Three brothers, Bobby and his wife Sue Summers of Smithville, Roger Dale Summers of Smithville, and Allen Douglas and his wife Kathy Summers of Liberty. Two sisters, Linda Kay Bailiff of Smithville and Mary Jeanette Farris of Warren County. Several nieces and nephews survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
