86 year old Bill Summers of Smithville died Thursday at NHC of Smithville. He was a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War, and an auto worker with the Ford Motor Company. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church. Bill Robertson and Mark Summers will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until noon at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and from 12:30 p.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny Bernard and Sarah Alta Summers; two brothers, P.E. and Dean Summers; and a sister, Jean S. Barry. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Audrey Summers of Smithville. A son, Mark and his wife, Nansi Summers of Waycross, Georgia. A daughter, Malia and husband David Laird of Smithville. Six grandchildren, Jason Allen Summers, Mark Adam Summers, Rachel Anne Guenther, Timothy Andrew Summers, Hope Abigail Summers, and Jack Famulski. Twelve great grandchildren. A sister, Janie Watson of McMinnville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
