77 year old Leonard Collins of Gordonsville died Tuesday at Riverview Regional Medical Center, Carthage of an extended illness. The body is at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home where the service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. John Griffin and Dwight Knowles will officiate and burial will be in the Smith County Memorial Gardens in Carthage.. The family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rosa Tayse Collins. Three children, Patsy Collins of Gordonsville, Connie and her husband Eugene Williams of Gordonsville, and Mark and his wife Danielle Collins of Smithville. Three grandchildren, Kevin and his wife Nichole Williams of Carthage, Keith Williams of Gordonsville, and Hunter Collins of Smithville. Three great grandchildren, Allision, Luke, and Hunter Williams all of Carthage. A sister, Betty Schafer of Leesburg, Virginia. Brothers, James Collins of Carthage and Reverend Herman “Jake” Collins of Pleasant Shade and Harold “Slick” Collins of Carthage. The Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
