Virginia Mai Atnip

81 year old Virginia Mai Atnip of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church and a former employee of Kingston Timer. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Don Davidson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Ada Adamson Hicks, her husband T.C. Atnip, and a sister, Jean Hicks. Survivors include children, Maxine and husband Kenneth Pritchett of Old Hickory, Phillip Atnip and Wanda Parker both of Smithville, and Debbie and husband Robert Driver of Dibrell. Grandchildren, Rhonda Prichett, David and wife Andrea Prichett, Layra and husband Steve Crook, Ashley and husband Ryan Black, and Lindsey Driver. Great grandhildren, Ryan Prichett, Lauren Edward, and Eli Crook. Great great grandchild, Isabella Bald. Brothers, Tom Hicks of Lebanon and Billy Hicks of Georgia. Sisters, Doris Hullett of McMinnville and Ruby Johnson of Smithville. Brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Boyd and Emogene Atnip of Smithville and Mary Ann Yarman of Cookeville. Many nieces, nephews, a host of friends, and church family survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
