Helen Elaine Petty

44 year old Helen Elaine Petty of Smithville died Wednesday at the emergency room of DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a waitress and a shirt factory worker. The funeral will be Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Ray Jenkins will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 5:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her father, Joel B. Atnip and a son, Dylan Cleveland Petty. Survivors include her children, Tony Lee Petty, Jr. and Eric Layne Petty both of Smithville. Mother and step father, Laurel and Dennis Jenkins of Sparta. Two sisters, Tammy Joel and husband Ray Jenkins of Kentucky and Bridgett Atnip of Smithville. One brother, Anthony Doel Atnip of Smithville. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
