83 year old Lois Ruth (Wilson) Lankford of Smithville died Wednesday at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. She was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church and a retired Walmart Door Greeter. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie D. Lankford; parents, Elvis and Cecil Hutchinson Wilson; two sisters, Iris Cross and Marjorie Dudney; and a brother, Charles Wilson. Survivors include three sons, Carlton D. and wife Barbara Lankford of Mississippi, Calvin Lee and wife Pam Lankford of Smithville, and Clifton Wayne and wife Lynn Lankford of Alabama. Seven grandchildren, Ginger Haile, Travis Lankford, Christy Lankford, Theodore Lankford, Suzann Lankford, Kim Howell and Jesse Tollett. Eight great grandchildren.
