Milas Marie (Hooper) Barnes Hibdon

Mrs. Milas Marie (Hooper) Barnes Hibdon, age 88 of McMinnville, Tennessee went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 12, 2017 of an extended illness.
Milas was born Easter Sunday, March 31, 1929 in Smithville, Tennessee to the late Albert Lee and Flora Ruth (Trusty) Hooper.
Milas worked at Smithville Shirt Factory where she raised her three boys as a single mother, and in later years she raised her niece. Her favorite saying was “as long as we have each other we can do anything.” She loved to sew and draw blue prints for houses. She loved the Lord with all her heart and served Him all her life, she believed in prayer and prayed for her family and friends and was a member of Gath’s Womens Prayer Group. She was a member of Gath Baptist Church McMinnville, TN.
Milas is survived by her sons, Danny L. Barnes and wife Diannia of McMinnville, TN, Jimmy D. Barnes and wife Sharon of Rock Island, TN and Ricky L. Barnes and wife Rebecca of McMinnville, niece, Sheila (Florida) Miner and husband Tom of McMinnville, TN, four sisters, Peggy (Hooper) Parsley and husband Clayton of Smithville, TN, Bill (Hooper) Poss and husband W.J. of Smithville, TN, Dean (Hooper) Johnson of Smithville,TN, Sue (Hooper) Baker of Smithville, TN, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Seven grandchildren, Danya Barnes, Dessa Burch and husband Eric Burch, Daniel Barnes, Samuel Barnes, Michael Barnes, Zachary Younglove, and Jahir Hernandez. Two great grandchildren, Braylon Burch and Erica Burch.
Preceded in death by her husband of 18 years H.D. Hibdon, her sons’ father, Alvie H. Barnes, parents Albert Lee and Flora Ruth (Trusty) Hooper, two brothers, Hoyte Hooper and Samuel Eugene Hooper, three sisters, Hettie Maureen (Hooper) Florida, Doris (Hooper) Cripps, Faye (Hooper) Trotter Rawls, nephew, Tim Florida, and niece Jackie Hedger.
Visitation for Mrs. Milas Barnes Hibdon will be Tuesday, November 14, 2017 from 3 PM to 9 PM at the Gardens of Memory Funeral Home. Also Wednesday, November 15 from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Gath Baptist Church.
Funeral Service for Mrs. Milas Barnes Hibdon will be 1 PM Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Gath Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Stewart officiating.
Interment will be in Gath Cemetery, McMinnville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meals on Wheels or Gath Baptist Church Womens Prayer Group.
