Marie Daws Barrett

Marie Daws Barrett age 58 of Smithville, passed away Monday evening, September 4, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 13, 1958 to her parents, the late Beecher Junior Ballew and Mable Simmons Ballew Davis. She was a member of the Allen’s Chapel United Methodist Church and worked as a secretary in the nursery business for many years. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Barrett of Smithville; children, Brad (Holly) Williams of Smithville, Keisha (Tony) Smith of Sparta, and Nikki Barrett of Smithville; 2 step-sons, Stephen (Vickey) Barrett and Bradley Barrett both of Smithville; 3 grandchildren, Tyler Williams, Gavin Williams and Zackery Smith; mother, Mable Davis of Smithville; 1 brother, Hank (Charlotte) Ballew of Clarksville. Funeral services will be conducted 1:PM Thursday, September 7, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday 1:PM until 8:PM and Thursday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
