Several people were fined and sentenced in DeKalb County Criminal Court Friday.
Judge David Patterson presided.
58 year old Larry Keaton pleaded guilty to three charges of sale of a schedule II controlled substance. He received a three year sentence in the Tennessee Department of Corrections in each case to run concurrently with each other but consecutive to any violation of probation sentence against him. He must perform 100 hours of community service work and undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and follow the recommendations. Keaton must make restitution of $120 to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department and pay a fine totaling $2,000. He was given jail credit of 196 days
37 year old Teresa Tittle Hallback pleaded guilty to sale of a schedule III & IV controlled substance and received a three year sentence in each case to run concurrently with each other but consecutive to a Wilson County case against her. She must serve four months and then be on supervised probation. Hallback must make $100 restitution to the Alexandria Police Department, perform 100 hours of community service work, undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and follow any recommendations, and pay a $2,000 fine. She was given jail credit of nine days.
28 year old Amanda Certain pleaded guilty to sale of a schedule IV controlled substance and received a three year sentence in the Tennessee Department of Corrections, to serve two months, and pay a $2,000 fine. Certain must also perform 100 hours of community service work and make $20 restitution to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
19 year old Stephen Brennan pleaded guilty to theft in one case and burglary and theft in another case. He received a three year sentence in one theft case, three years on the burglary charge, and two years in the other theft case, all to run concurrently with each other and with a Wilson County case against him. He will serve six months of the three year sentence and pay restitution of $1,075. Brennan was given jail credit of eighteen days.
30 year old James Hesson pleaded guilty to attempted violation of the sex offender registry. He received a sentence of 11 months and 29 days all suspended to probation but 30 days to be served on weekends.
40 year old Martin Owens Bryant, charged with simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, was granted judicial diversion for a period of 11 months and 29 days. He must perform 50 hours of community service, undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and follow the prescribed treatments, and pay a $250 fine. He must pay a fine for speeding.
37 year old Homer A. Petty pleaded guilty to theft over $1,000 in one case and sale of a schedule II controlled substance in another case. He received a sentence of three years to serve eight months in the theft case with one year of probation supervised by community corrections. He also received a three year sentence in the drug case, supervised by the Tennessee Department of Corrections. The sentences are to run consecutive or back to back with each other. A burglary charge against him was dismissed. Petty must perform 100 hours of community service work, make restitution totaling $2,600 and pay a fine of $2,000. He was given jail credit of four days.
29 year old Ricky Ashford pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted forgery. He received a sentence of 11 months and 29 days in each case to run concurrently with each other, all suspended to time served. The cases are to run consecutively with a violation of probation sentence he is now serving. Ashford must make restitution of $326. He was given jail credit from November 6th, 2007 to June 20th, 2008.
30 year old Bryan Cole pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft and received a sentence of 11 months and 29 days, all suspended to supervised probation. The case is to run consecutive to a Putnam County case against him. Cole must make restitution of $839. He was given jail credit of eight days.
43 year old Tonya Caldwell pleaded guilty to two counts of sale of a schedule II controlled substance. She received a four year sentence in each case, all suspended to DOC probation. The cases are to run concurrently with each other and with a General Sessions Court case against her. Caldwell must make restitution of $150. She was given one day of jail credit.
39 year old Tina Dorton pleaded guilty to sale of a schedule II & IV controlled substance and received a four year sentence in each case as a range 1 offender. The cases are to run concurrently with each other but consecutive to a violation of probation against her. A DUI case against her was dismissed. Dorton must pay a fine of $2,000 and make restitution of $205 to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.
53 year old Jeana Brown pleaded guilty to three counts of sale of a schedule III controlled substance. She received a three year sentence in each case to run concurrently with each other. She will serve 60 days and then be on supervised DOC probation. Brown must make $40 restitution to the Sheriff’s Department, perform 100 hours of community service work, undergo an alcohol and drug assessment and follow the prescribed treatments, and pay a $2,000 fine. Brown was given five days of jail credit.
21 year old Justin Marek pleaded guilty to burglary and theft over $1,000. He received a three year sentence in each case to serve in the Tennessee Department of Corrections. The cases are to run concurrently with each other and with an eight year sentence against him in Wilson County. He must also pay restitution.
20 year old Julie Diane Ray, charged with accessory after the fact, was granted judicial diversion for a period of one year. She will be on supervised probation and must perform 50 hours of community service work.
39 year old Kelly Gibbs pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary, forgery, and fraudulent use of a credit card. Gibbs received a sentence of four years on the burglary case, two years for forgery, and three years in the credit card case, all to run concurrently with each other as a four year sentence. Gibbs will be on supervised probation by TDOC, with one year supervised by community corrections. Gibbs must make restitution totaling $2,410.
33 year old Crystal Turner pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary, theft over $500, and forgery. She received a three year sentence in the burglary case and two years in the theft and forgery cases, all to run concurrently with each other as a three year sentence. She will be in the community corrections program and must make restitution of $394.
52 year old Mark West pleaded guilty to facilitation of sale of a schedule II controlled substance and received a two year sentence on TDOC probation. He must perform 100 hours of community service, make restitution of $55, and pay a fine of $2,000. The sentence is to run concurrently with a violation of probation against him, supervised by community corrections. West was given jail credit of one day.
