School System Promotes Education with Billboard sign

The DeKalb County Board of Education and Director of Schools are putting education on display this summer.
A billboard on the west side of the Smithville city limits has been rented by the school system from Lamar Advertising which will feature a group picture of several recent honor students at DeKalb County High School with the slogan “”Education Counts in DeKalb County.”
The billboard has been rented for twelve months at a total cost of approximately $4,000 to be funded from the “communication” line item of the school budget.
