79 year old Alice Louise Cox of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Smithville Church of Christ, manager of Furrs Cafeteria and a homemaker. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Dan Gulley will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 10:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mittie Tackett Wilson; her husband, Jesse E. Cox; a son, Gary Eugene Cox; two sisters; a brother; and a granddaughter, Mandy Cartwright. Survivors include daughters, Linda Cartwright and Debra Robertson both of Smithville. A son, Stanley and wife Judy Cox of Oklahoma. Grandchildren, Jesse Cox of Smithville, Bridget and husband Bob Hailey of Oklahoma, Andrea Barton of Oklahoma and Erica Cox of Smithville. Four great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Preston of Amarillo, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses, in lieu of flowers.
