93 year old Amon David France of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was an air conditioner maintenance worker for ARO, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, and a Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. and Garry McBride will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. France was preceded in death by his wife, Lola France; parents, Daniel and Lou Della France; two brothers, Audie France and Alvie France; and a nephew, Billy France. Survivors include a sister, Ophlynn and Leffel Redmon of Smithville. A brother, Erby France of Smithville. Nieces and nephews, Sonia and Kenneth Vinson of Cloverport, Tennessee, Tawana and Randall Box of Brentwood, Danny and Debbie France of Dowelltown, Tim France of Smithville, Earl and Emaline France of Smithville, Barbara and Charles Young of McMinnville, and Marilyn and Larry Wilbourn of Soddy Daisy.
