89 year old Arvil Norton died Sunday at his residence. He was a farmer, factory worker, a member of the Keltonburg Church of Christ and a U.S. Army World War II veteran. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Phillip Adcock and Burton Jones will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Norton; parents, Jim and Annie Chaffin Norton; two brothers, Virgil and Edwin Norton; and two sisters, Irene Brown and Zella Morrison. He is survived by his children, Russell and his wife Margaret Norton, Jackie and his wife Lisa Norton, and Brenda Kay and her husband Danny Cantrell all of Smithville. Grandchildren, Crystal, Brandi, Nioka, and Annieka Norton, Dwayne Foster, Tonia Pack, Jacob and Olivia Norton, and Bryan and Heather Cantrell. Eleven great grandchildren. A brother, Frank Norton of Newark, Ohio. A sister, Dorris Haile of Cookeville. Special care givers, Pamela Yates and Angie Escobedo. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
