77 year old Athelene Hullett Young of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was retired from Kington Timer and a member of the Pomeroy Chapel Brethren-In Christ. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. James Allen and John David Wilson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, John B. and Minnie Pack Hullett; two brothers, E.J. and Carroll Hullett; and a sister, Corrine Hullet. Survivors include her husband T.J. Young; a son, Jackie and his wife Patsy Young; and a daughter, Jannie and her husband Larry Evans all of Smithville. Five grandchildren, Neal Young, Amanda and Brad Townsend all of Smithville, Garry Evans of Texas, Kerrie and Steven Gunter of Wisconsin, and Brad and Ronica Evans of Smithville. Five great grandchildren, Jordan, Jacob, and Breanna Townsend and Brady and Neely Evans all of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
