73 year old Barbra Lois Elrod of the Johnsons Chapel Community died Saturday at the Shannon Dale Health Care Center in Knoxville. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. and Anne Welch Cooper; her husband, George W. Elrod, Jr.; and a brother, Robert “Buddy” Cooper. Surivors include three sons, Richard and his wife Shari Elrod of Knoxville, Bill Elrod and Charlie Elrod both of Sparta. Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Three sisters, Mary Lou Bilbee of West Virginia, Polly Jones of Maryland, and Betty Murphy of Murfreesboro. A sister-in-law, Henry Elrod of Sparta and a brother-in-law, James Elrod, Sr. of Manchester. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
