Billy “Walker Dog” Lackey, Jr. age 65 of Smithville, passed away Friday afternoon at his residence. He was born November 27, 1951 to his parents, the late Billy Lackey, Sr. and Nora Mae Howard Lackey Pinegar. Billy attended the Old Fashioned Freewill Baptist Church and was a retired Truck Driver. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Lackey of Smithville; 5 children, Scotty (Patricia) Stubbe of Smithville, Charles Stubbe of Smithville, Tina (Keneth) Whitehead of Smithville, Tammy (David) Hough of Lake Wells, FL, and Jason (Linda Bain) Lackey of Smithville; daughter-in-law, Retta Lackey of Smithville; 10 grandchildren, Ashlee Whitehead (Jacob Rankhorn), Jessica Price, Madison Whitehead, Shelby Hough, Dakota Nokes, Tiera Anderson, Tabitha Goodwin, Joshua Lackey, Eli Lackey, Nicholas Lackey; 2 step-great-grandchildren, Madison Anderson and Kimber Nokes; 9 brothers and sisters, Wane Lackey of Chattanooga, Steven Lackey of Manchester, Tommy (Crissy) Lackey of Manchester, James Lackey of Sparta, Bethel (Linda) Golden of Smithville, Jean (Johnny) King of Sparta, Norma (David) Young of Sparta, Wanda (Jerry) Allen of Sparta, Angela (Julio) Garcia of Manchester and a host of nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Funeral services will be 2:PM Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Nathan Thomason and David Lawson officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Monday 12 Noon until 8:PM and Tuesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 2:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
