71 year old Buddy Otis Bain, Jr. of Alexandria died Tuesday at UMC Hospital in Lebanon. He was an employee of the TVA Gallatin Steam Plant and a member of the Malone’s Chapel Baptist Church, a member of Alexandria Lodge #175, and the U.S. Army Otter Caribou Association. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran and served as an Aviation Mechanic in the 1st Aviation Brigade. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Bill Shaw will officiate and burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy Bass Bain and Mattie Bell Dodd; and a brother, William Andy Bain. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Patricia Ann Fitts Bain of Alexandria. Sons, Buddy Gordon Bain of Alexandria and Bobby Anthony and Shannon Bain of Lebanon. A brother, Don Bain (Monk) of Alexandria. Sisters, Frances Jordan of Gladeville, Anita Hayes of Mount Juliet, and Jean and Richard Hackett of Gordonsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or another program to help Military Veterans in his memory. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.
