Allan Joseph Lester

52 year old Allan Joseph Lester of Dowelltown died Thursday evening at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was disabled. Lester formerly worked as a nurseryman at Guthrie’s Nursery. Lester’s wishes were that he be cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later time. Survivors include three children, Stephanie Lester of Dowelltown and Nick and Allan Lester both of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Makaylee Winchester of Dowelltown and Brayden Lester of Smithville. Parents, Robert and Joy Jones Lester of Madison Heights, Michigan. Two brothers, Mike and wife Kim Lester of Chesterfield, Michigan and Bob and wife Maureen Lester of Madison Heights, Michigan. 90 year old Alene Adamson Harvey of Alexandria died Saturday at UMC hospital in Lebanon. She was a longtime member of the Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. Tim Diffenderfer will officiate and burial will be in the Talley Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation Tuesday will be from 10:00 a.m. until the service at the church. The family has requested that donations be made to the Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church or to the Talley Cemetery in lieu of flowers. Harvey was preceded in death by her parents, A.C. 97 year old Grace Ann Bratten Medley of Smithville died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a retired postal worker at the Liberty Post Office. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Don Mathis will officiate. A private burial will be held at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. No visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The visitation and funeral service will be open to the public. Medley was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Medley; parents, William Thomas and Lillie Braswell Bratten; a grandson, Bryan Cantrell and a brother, Buster Bratten. 79 year old Henry C. Hickey of Gassaway died Saturday at the Woodbury Health Care Center. He was born at Silver Point and was the son of the late Sam & Alma Carter Hickey.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Gary Hancock will officiate and burial will be in the Beech Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday until the time of the service.
Hickey was retired from the Carrier Corporation and was a farmer and member of the Baptist Church

69 year old Arlin Butch Early of Mart, Texas died Friday April 26. He was a brother to Linda Franklin of Smithville. The funeral service was held Tuesday, April 30 at Pecan Grove Funeral Home in Waco, Texas. A family memorial service was held on Sunday, May 5 at the Dry Creek Baptist Church. Butch was born on June 28th 1943 in Bridgeport Texas to Edgar and Catherine Early. He married Gloria Wright on November 23nd, 1979. He worked as a tool and die maker for Mercury Tool.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents: grandson BillyWright Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Mart, children, Debbie Wright , Diana Gouyton and husband Craig, Bobby Wright and wife Georgia, Tracy Wright, and wife Sherry, Billy Wright, Dale McNiel and husband Benny, Johnathan Wright, and wife Simone, Jeff Wright, James Wright and wife Nickey.
