Norma Jean Leadlove

70 year old Norma Jean Leadlove died Saturday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was an Insurance Claims Clerk with Blue Cross Blue Shield and a member of the Center Hill Brethren in Christ. The funeral will be Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Larry Steffee will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by parents, Carrol Victor and Goldia Sylvia Bardmess Barr; a sister, Beverly Rogers; and a brother, Gene Barr. Survivors include her children, Angelia Cantrell of Alexandria, Cynthia and husband Daniel Niles of Dowelltown, and Richard Leadlove of Indianapolis, Indiana. Five grandchildren, Ashley Reif, Amy Blaylock, Channon Leadlove, Michael Ferrarie, and Tabitha Leadlove. Three great grandchildren, Landon Hinckley, Loralye Blaylock, and Cadence Badgett. Lucille Jennings

79 year old Lucille Jennings of Alexandria died Thursday afternoon at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Hettie Malone Parkerson and was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Douglas Jennings and 11 brothers and sisters. Lucille was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and retired from Robertshaw Lux Time in Lebanon. She is survived by her daughters, Jan Fite of Alexandria and Judy Craddock of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jason Fite of Gadsden, AL, Jeff and wife Samantha Craddock of Lebanon, Jesse Craddock of Lebanon; great grandchildren, Natalie Craddock and Caitlin Ring; sister, Jean and husband Jimmy Reasonover of Alexandria; brother, Butch Parkerson of Liberty; nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Ronnie Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. till service time on Saturday. 79 year old Lucille Jennings of Alexandria died Thursday afternoon at her residence. Jerry Wayne “Popcorn Man” Evans

74 year old Jerry Wayne “Popcorn Man” Evans, a McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native died Friday at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas Hospital following a brief illness.
A retired employee of Carrier Air Conditioning Company, United States Air Force veteran, member of Air Guard for twenty years and a member of Christ United Methodist Church, he was the son of the late Gentry and Louise Burton Evans. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Peterson.
He was married to Donna Davenport Evans of McMinnville. In addition to his wife of fifty-one years, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Linda Evans of the Centertown Community; granddaughter, Sarah Evans of the Centertown Community; aunts, Mrs. Johnnie Hobson of Ardmore, Mrs. Billie Cook, Mrs. Jo Evans, Mrs. Edith Evans and Mrs. Frankie Evans all of Smithville, sister-in-law, Patsy Davenport Askew; niece, Pam Davenport; great-nephew, Davis L. Cantrell and numerous cousins.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in High’s Chapel in McMinnville with Lorin Pedigo officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at High’s.

93 year old Flonnie Hazel Waller of McMinnville died Wednesday at NHC Healthcare Center in McMinnville. She was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church. Waller worked at the Smithville Shirt Factory for many years. A graveside service and burial will be Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Michael Hale will officiate. No visitation will be held at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service. Waller was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Pearlie Self Caplinger; her husband, Andrew Boyd Waller; a daughter, Hazel Boyd Waller; and brothers, Delton and Walter Caplinger. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Gary Howell of Dahlonega, Georgia. A granddaughter, Deborah Leigh of Cummings, Georgia. 44 year old Sonya Lynn Foster Sullivan of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a graduate of Coal City High School in Coal City, Illinois (Class of 1987). She resided in Smithville for the past 18 years. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Eugene Adkins will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. Survivors include her parents, Joe and Sue Wallace Foster. One daughter, Karie Padgett of Smithville. One son, Tyler Fewell of Morris, Illinois.
