87 year old Eva Dean Wright of Cookeville died Sunday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville.
Mrs. Wright was born in Warren County, daughter of the late Virgil (Jones) Cantrell and Rufuss Cantrell. She worked as a bookkeeper with GTE of Cookeville for over 15 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Mrs. Wright is survived by daughters: Tenille Rowland & Paul of Smithville; Julie Franklin & Billy of Cookeville. Grandsons: Daniel Stanley, Seth Stanley, Caleb Stanley & Zach Rowland all of Smithville; Cody Batson & Jared Batson both of Sparta. Niece: Deborah Kurk & Alan of Knoxville. Nephew: Ronald Pelham of Knoxville. Niece: Johnnie B. Pelham-Hurd of Sparta.
She was also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband Johney V. Wright, her parents, brother Bill Cantrell, sister Georgia Pelham and a great nephew James Hurd.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Freddie Harding officiating. Burial will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial. Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8 p.m and on Thursday from 10 a.m-1 p.m at the funeral home.

55 year old Kathryn Sue Wilson of Smithville died Wednesday at her residence. She was disabled and a Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Donald Owens will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her father, Rosevelt Leonard Kidd; her husband, Jerry Davis Bentley; and a brother, Keith Alan Kidd. Survivors include her children, Peggy Bentley and Tonya Manning both of Morristown and Jerri Stiltner of Pikeville, Kentucky. Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Her mother, Maurella Davenport of Smithville. Siblings, Linda Knowles of Smithville, Alvin Kidd and Syble Tucker of Detroit. Seven nieces and nephews and special friend, Ronald L. Bunce. 32 year old Tyree Allen Nokes of Dowelltown died Wednesday at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. A factory worker, he attended The Edge Worship Center. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. B.J. Thomason and Tommy Curtis will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Nokes was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Gleaves and Freda Nokes; maternal grandparents, Hoyte and Sarah L. Sara V. “Ginny” Reed
71 year old Sara V. “Ginny” Reed of Smithville died Monday at her daughter’s residence. She was a member of the Webb’s Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Smithville First Baptist Church. Reed was a farmer, homemaker, and she worked at Sundance. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Don Davidson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Reed was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Katherine Powers Farlow; a son, Brent Reed; a brother, Charles Farlow; and sisters, Beth and husband Joe Hensel; and Alice Libka. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Robert Jack Reed of Smithville. Children, Margaret and husband Doyle Curtis of Liberty, Bart and wife Glenda Reed of Warner Robbins, Georgia, Brian and wife Phyllis Reed, and Barry and wife Angie Reed all of Smithville; and daughter-in-law, Paulette Reed of Smithville. Amon Newton Snyder
93 year old Amon Newton Snyder of Alexandria died Sunday at his residence. He had spent many years in the DeKalb County School System as a teacher and principal of DeKalb County High School. Born in DeKalb County, Snyder was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alexandria where he was a deacon, past Sunday School director, past church training director, and church treasurer for 33 years. Snyder served in the U.S. Army and Air Force from 1942-1945. He was a Mason, a Scottish Rite, and a member of the Alexandria Masonic Lodge #175. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Alexandria. Michael Cantrell, Don Elmore, and Curt Wagoner will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Tuesday from noon until the service at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Roscoe Snyder and Jennie Hendrixson and two sisters, Stella Corley and Lacye Mullinax. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lucy Snyder of Alexandria. Dean Magness
91 year old Dean Magness of McMinnville died Thursday of an extended illness at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Central Church of Christ. A graveside service will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Warren County. Comer Mullican will officiate. She was preceded in death by her parents, William “Bill” and Quixie Milligan Watson; a son, Teddy Magness; two daughters, Linda Sacheck and Beth Addison; a brother, Waldon Watson; and two sisters, Gwen Brown and Audrey Henry. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Judi Love of Toccoa, Georgia and Marilyn and husband Phillip Cantrell of Smithville. Thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren survive. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Relay for Life or to the American Alzheimers Association. Lillie Belle Gilliam
98 year old Lillie Belle Gilliam of Alexandria died Wednesday at the Dekalb Community Hospital.
Mrs. Gilliam was born April 3, 1914 in Fern Creek, KY; the daughter of the late Susie E. Brown and M. Guy Miller. She married Wilton Kenneth Gilliam and he preceded her in death on May 10, 1995. She moved to Alexandria in 1972 and was a member of the Alexandria Church of Christ.
Mrs. Gilliam is survived by Nieces, Nephews, and Stepchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Lillie Belle Gilliam are scheduled to be conducted on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 11:00AM at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria, TN. Bro. Jeff Ford will officiate.
Visitation with the Gilliam family will be held on Friday from 4PM to 7PM and again on Saturday from 9AM until service time at 11AM.

Mary Joyce Judkins
47 year old Mary Joyce Judkins of Smithville and a native of Warren County died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital following an extended illness.
An employee of Tenneco and member of the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, she was the daughter of Jean Holt of McMinnville and the late Jessie Holt.
She was married to Bryan Judkins of Smithville. In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three daughters, Mindy Evans, Kayla Judkins and Hannah Judkins all of Smithville, TN; three grandchildren, Kenya Batey, Jordan Batey and Carly Batey all of Smithville, TN; three brothers, Dewayne (Teresa) Holt, Bobby Holt and Rick (Debbie) Woodlee all of McMinnville; two sisters, Patty (Lynn) Simmons and Bonnie Holt both of McMinnville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Janice Judkins of Smithville, TN; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Brian Young of Sparta, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in High’s Chapel with Bobby Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Blues Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at High’s.

Dan Mitchell Fite, Sr.
65 year old Dan Mitchell Fite, Sr. of Dowelltown died Friday night at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a Baptist, member of the American Legion Post #122 and he was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Vietnam. Fite was also a construction worker for Johnson and Johnson. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Mike Gay and Mike Clayborn will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery.
