Kevin Allen Moore

54 year old Kevin Allen Moore of Alexandria died Tuesday at his residence. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Moore was a truck driver. A memorial service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Cleo Sanders will officiate. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Carr Moore and Helen Julia Johnson Moore; an uncle, James Moore; and an aunt, Carrie Price. Survivors include his wife, Becky Bass Moore of Alexandria. Children, Michelle and husband Kevin Cox, Jr. of Alexandria, Tiwana Moore of Murfreesboro, Sharika Moore of Smithville, and Angeline Jiggets of Indiana. Grandchildren, Latravia Cox, Kyndal Cox, Melasia Gilles, and Ziah Gurley. Seven other grandchildren. Brothers and sisters, Carr Moore of Alexandria, and Marlene Griffin, Sandra Matthews, and Janet Williams Copeland all of Illinois. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends survive. The family has requested that donations may be made to Anderson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses, in lieu of flowers.

Beulah D. Avant

93 year old Beulah D. Avant of Alexandria died Tuesday.. She was the widow of Clay Avant.
She was preceded in death by four siblings; Taft Davis, Paul Davis, Chester Davis, and Zula Davis Coley. Survivors include a daughter, Jane A. Fly of Nashville. Grandchildren, Christopher and wife Mary Fly of Augusta, Georgia, Susan Fly of Dallas, Texas and Jonathan Fly of Nashville. Great grandchildren, Reid, Avery, and Max Fly of Augusta, Georgia.
Mrs. Avant graduated from DeKalb County High School and received an Associates Degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College. She was a teacher before working for many years at The Alexandria Bank and Trust and then at the Watertown Bank. Mrs. Avant was a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 417. She was a member of the Alexandria United Methodist Church and the Smithville First United Methodist Church. She was also active in many community organizations in Alexandria.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October at 4:00 p.m. at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m..
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Murfreesboro location of Alive Hospice or to the charity of your choice. Avant Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Ann Tittle

65 year old Barbara Ann Tittle of Smithville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Petty Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the service at noon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dillard Clay and Ina Elise Petty and granddaughter, Bambi Mabeus. Survivors include her husband, Randall Tittle of Smithville. Three children, Bridgett Mabeus of Louisiana, Tammy Snyder of Smithville, and Mark Mabeus of McMinnville. Two grandchildren, Niki Mabeus of Smithville and Shonna Mabeus of McMinnville. 85 year old Mildred Dean Page of Lebanon died Thursday at NHC of Smithville. A Baptist, she was formerly employed by Texas Boot in Lebanon. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bob Curtis will officiate and burial will be in the Wilson County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Cecil and Iva Laura Page; a sister, Wilma Parkerson; a brother, Lionel Page; sister-in-law, Barbara Page; and special friend, Marguerite Trusty Mealer. Survivors include three brothers, W.J. Page of Alexandria, Hobert and wife Athelene Page of Smithville and Robert and wife Bobbie Page of Mt. Juliet. Sister-in-law, Pam Page of Smithville. 71 year old Jerry Dean Williams of Smithville died Monday at his residence. He served in the U.S. Army and was a carpenter. The family has chosen direct cremation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Emma Waters Williams. Survivors include his wife Pam Williams of Smithville. Two daughters, Tammy Speakman of Murfreesboro and Cindy and husband Doyle Flarity of Smithville. Two granddaughters, Savanna Speakman of Murfreesboro and Aspen Flarity of Smithville. A sister, Patsy Darichuck of Arizona. A brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Barbara Meadows of Smithville. A nephew, William and wife Angie Meadows of Smithville. 61 year old Steve Redmon of Sparta died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 7:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the service at 7:00 p.m. Redmon worked at Federal Mogul. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Mildred Johnson Redmon. Survivors include the mother of his children, Lynn Redmon of California. Two daughters, Tonya Redmon of California and Shelly Spada of Sparta. Grandchildren, Christian and Madison Spada, and Nathaniel Crockett. Brothers, Don and Jerry Redmon both of California. Sisters, Phyllis McKenzie, Brenda Liebgott and Janie Leal all of California. 73 year old Clyde Samuel Murphy of Dowelltown died Sunday at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was a dairy farmer. Born in Wilson County, Murphy was preceded in death by his wives, Rosie Tittle Murphy and Elizabeth Ferrell Murphy; a stepson, Dale Bain; parents, William Frank and Lily Caroline Ferrell Murphy; brothers, John, Frank, Dock, Jimmy, and Roy Murphy; and sisters, Bessie Lee Dodd, Jessie Mai Vanatta, and Betty Jean Murphy. He is survived by nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a step-daughter, Carolyn Murphy. Family and friends will gather at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday for a graveside service at Jennings Cemetery in Statesville. Brad Murphy will officiate. 81 year old Virginia Mai Atnip of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church and a former employee of Kingston Timer. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Don Davidson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Ada Adamson Hicks, her husband T.C. Atnip, and a sister, Jean Hicks. Survivors include children, Maxine and husband Kenneth Pritchett of Old Hickory, Phillip Atnip and Wanda Parker both of Smithville, and Debbie and husband Robert Driver of Dibrell. 91 year old Joanna Snow Moore of Smithville died Thursday at NHC of Smithville. She was a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, a former member of the Eastern Star, and a member of the American Legion. Moore was also a retired machine operator at the Smithville Shirt Factory. The funeral will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dr. John Carpenter will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the service time at 4:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Edward Moore; parents, Robert Lee and Virgie Mangum Snow; a sister, Frances Poss; and three brothers, Howard, Wiley, and Robert Snow. Survivors include a daughter, Yolanda and husband Thomas Barry of Brentwood. Three sons, Phillip Moore of Smithville, Kenneth and wife Hazel Moore of Texas and Stephen and wife Melissa Moore of Hendersonville. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. 78 year old Mary Frances Aughinbaugh Hayes of Smithville died Thursday at NHC of Smithville. She was a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church and a former employee of Nuturn and the Smithville Shirt Factory. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Whorton Springs Baptist Church. David Mahan will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the funeral home and from 1:00 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. at Whorton Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Edgar and Mary Elizabeth Aughinbaugh and two sisters, Dorothy Green and Barbara Calvert. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James Hayes of Smithville. A son, Ricky Hayes of Smithville. A daughter, Vicky and husband Joe Bogle of Dowelltown. Two grandchildren, Michelle and husband Paul Cantrell and Tony and wife Amanda Trapp all of Smithville. Five great grandchildren. A brother, Joe Edgar Aughinbaugh of Viola. Two brothers-in-law, Johnny and wife Trena Hayes of Pegram and Morris Braswell of Smithville. Her very special church family loved her dearly.
