Austin Eugene Underwood

86 year old Austin Eugene Underwood of Smithville died Tuesday at NHC Healthcare Center. He was a minister and he served in the U.S. Army. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Smithville Church of God. Jeff Armstrong, Charles Wiley, Bert Hare, Edwin Underwood, and Donnie Kelly will officiate and burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. All visitation will be at the church. Underwood was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Houston and Olivia Mae Patterson Underwood; a sister, Frances Odell Waggoner; a brother, Billy Andrew Waggoner; a nephew, James Robert Waggoner; and his first wife, Frieda Lee Coffee Underwood. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Underwood of Smithville. Brothers and sisters, James N. and wife Evelyn Underwood of Shanopee, Maine; Naomi Sue Kelly of Smithville, Doris J. and husband Bert Hare of New Castle, Delaware, and Roger C. and wife Miriam Underwood of Phoenix, Arizona. Wilma Judkins

88 year old Wilma Judkins of Warren, Michigan and formally a native of Smithville died Saturday at St. Johns Macomb Oakland Hospital in Warren, Michigan. She worked in the automotive industry. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon Jr. will officiate with burial in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Lee Judkins. She is survived by four sons, Randall and Wendell Judkins, both of Michigan, and Micheal and Steven Judkins, both of Wisconsin. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Juanita Casey

87 year old Juanita Casey of Smithville died Monday at her residence. She was a Methodist and a homemaker. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. John Carpenter will officiate with burial in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Casey and a son, James Casey. Two sisters, Jessie E. Duhot and Pauline VanHooser Reeder, and parents, James and Beulah Davis Neal. She is survived by a son, John and wife Alicia Casey of Orlando. One daughter, Beulah and husband Steve Joiner of Texas. Three grandchildren, Casey Joiner of Texas, Shannon and husband David Coughlin of Orlando, and Erin Casey of Denver. Two great-grandchildren, Katherine Grace Coughlin and Ryan Murphy Coughlin, both of Orlando. A host of cousins and friends all survive. Luther George Martin

71 year old Luther George Martin of Murfreesboro, previously of Watertown and a native of DeKalb County, died Thursday at his residence. A retired sales representative with Waste Management, Martin was a member of the Temperance Hall Pentecostal Church and he served in the U.S. Air Force. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Sue Hutchinson and Glenn Grisham will officiate and burial will be in the Jones Hill Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, George Herman and Mozell Waggoner Martin. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Serita Martin of Murfreesboro. A daughter, Vanessa and husband Ron Reese of Murfreesboro. Grandsons, Aaron and Evan Reese of Murfreesboro. Bruce Aaron Thompson

56 year old Bruce Aaron Thompson of Dowelltown died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He held an Associates Degree and was the owner/operator of Asset Ink. A memorial service will be Sunday at noon at the home of Mr. Thompson. No visitation or services will be held at the funeral home. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Geraldine Wallace Thompson and a brother, Eugene Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Helga Thompson of Dowelltown. One daughter, Karley Jo Thompson of Dowelltown. One sister, Dian and husband David Incencio of Tullahoma. One brother, James and wife Jean Thompson of Priceville. 56 year old Lillard Colwell of Smithville died Sunday at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was disabled. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Toy and Lydia Williams Colwell; and brothers, Dal, James, Floyd, and John B. Colwell. Survivors include his wife, Sue Colwell of Smithville. Children, Johnny and wife Joelle Colwell of Florida, Greg and wife Candy Hays of Murfreesboro, Tiffany and husband Jeremy Boren of Smithville, and Chesney Colwell of Chattanooga. Ten grandchildren. Dolores Louise Allen

75 year old Dolores Louise Allen of Nashville died Monday at Centennial Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David Lawson will officiate and burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until the service at 10:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewell Allen; parents, Buford and Flossie Jones; and a son, Keith Ryan Allen. Survivors include one son, Tony Allen of Nashville. Three grandchildren, Kevin and Talisa Allen of Lebanon, Christopher Allen of Nashville, Ashley and Jimmy Martin of Smithville. Jerry Spencer Trapp

76 year old Jerry Spencer Trapp of Mt. Juliet died Tuesday, August 15, 2012 at his residence.
Jerry was born May 26, 1936 in the Long Branch, Community of Dekalb County, TN. the son of the late Charlie Spencer Trapp and Amanda Eula Trapp. He married Ann Dillon Jones Trapp on October 2, 1961 and she preceded him in death on October 24, 2008. Jerry was a 1954 Graduate of Gordonsville High School and served his country during the Korean War. He worked for 2 years at Ross Gear, and for 31 ½ years at Dupont before Retiring in 1996. Jerry loved farming, hunting, fishing, and his family.
Mr. Trapp is survived by his Two Children; Elaine (Mike) Thomas of Alexandria, TN., and Wade Trapp of Alexandria, TN., Four Grandchildren; Jesse Duane Hawkins, Greg M. Thomas, Stephen Carl (Brittany) Thomas, and Kyle Spencer Thomas. One Great-Grandchild; Harmony Thomas also survives.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Spencer Trapp are scheduled to be conducted Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11 AM at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes. Bro. Phillip Lane will officiate and Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Visitation with the Trapp family will be held on Friday from 3 PM to 8 PM and on Saturday after 9 AM until service time at 11 AM.

Linda Christian Stone

65 year old Linda Christian Stone of Cookeville died Tuesday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a Christian and legal secretary. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Charles Braswell and Ronald Whited will officiate and burial will be at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlon Christian and Louise Frazier; grandparents, Bobby and Alpha Bain, Hobert and Beulah Christian. Survivors include daughters, Kendra and husband Rick Guinn of Smithville and Renee Johnson of Cookeville. Grandchildren, Macy Felts of Cookeville, MacKenley Turner, Nikolas Agee, Trey Guinn, and Lizzy Guinn all of Smithville.Step-father, Edsel B. Frazier of Smithville. Bobby Gerald Taylor

Memorial services for 75 year old Bobby Gerald Taylor of Smithville will be conducted on Thursday at 6:00PM at Silver Point Baptist Church with Tony Crow officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday at Silver Point Baptist Church from 4:00-6:00PM.
Taylor died on Sunday at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Bobby Gerald Taylor was born on July 2, 1937 in Wilson County, TN to the late Walter and Willie O.Hammond (Jones). Bobby worked for Avco and was a member of the Silver Point Baptist Church.
Inaddition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him: Nisha and Pearl Taylor, and a Half-Sister:Nancy Hammond.
He is survived by 2 Sons and Daughters-In-Law: Glyn and April Taylor of Silver Point, and Lynn and Trenia Taylor of Baxter, TN. Two Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Kathy Taylor and Kirk Moody of Smithville,TN and Tammy Taylor and Brent Hickman of Cookeville, TN. A Brother and Sister-In_Law: Jimmy and Marie Taylor of Smithville, TN. 2 Half Brothers: Charles and Roger Hammond. A Half Sister:Doris Ann Taylor.
Bobby was a grandfather to six grandchildren:Brittany Taylor, Devon Taylor, Jacob Taylor, Jaylee Beth(Beth Ann)Taylor, Avery Grace Hickman,and Presley Mae”Elvis”Hickman. He is also survived by a very special caregiver: Aliesha Butler, a host of nieces and nephews.
