76 year old Darnell Sevier of Gordonsville died Friday at his home.
Darnell was born May 30, 1936 in Overton County, TN the son of the late Charles Clural Sevier and Mary Edith Hunter. He married his Wife and Mother of his Children, Thelma Lynch Sevier on March 9, 1954, and she preceded him in death on February 18, 2009. Darnell is also preceded in death by his Son; Steve Sevier, and four Siblings, Arvil Sevier, Donie Sevier, Onie Crawford, and Bonnie Mullins. He was a church leader and a Sixty year member at the Macedonia Baptist Church. Darnell worked as a farmer and retired from Tredegar Industries. He married Eva Sevier on May 27, 2012.
Mr. Sevier is survived by his Wife; Eva Sevier of Gordonsville, TN, Six Children; Janice (Michael) Ballard of Gordonsville, TN, Patricia (Steve) Massey of Elmwood, TN, Melissa Gregory of Lebanon, TN, Eric (Peggy) Sevier of Gordonsville, TN, Ferlin Sevier of Gordonsville, TN, and Sammy Sevier of Gordonsville, TN. Son-in-Law; Gary Gregory of Lebanon, TN. Two Stepchildren; Vickie (Jerry) Smith of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Pam (Curtis) Shelton of Temperance Hall, TN. One Sister, Juanita (Horace) Gore of Gordonsville, TN. Seventeen Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services for Mr. Sevier are scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2012 at 1 PM at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes with Bro. Steve Bode and Bro. Charlie Pollard officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordonsville Cemetery.
Visitation with the Sevier Family will be at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes on Sunday from 12 Noon to 8 PM and on Monday from 10 AM until service time at 1 PM.
The Sevier Family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to assist with the funeral fund.

Charlene Blew
68 year old Charlene Blew of Lower Helton Road in Alexandria died Friday at her home.
Charlene was born October 13, 1943 in Lebanon, TN the daughter of Elizabeth Sandlin and the late Charley Blew. She loved gardening and animals, with a special affection towards cats. Charlene was saved and attended Lower Helton The Baptist Church. She graduated from Liberty High School in 1961. Charlene worked for thirty years at several different banks as a teller.
Ms. Blew is survived by her Mother; Elizabeth Sandlin Blew of Alexandria, TN, Close friend; Elizabeth “Liz” Bartley, and by several Cousins.
Funeral Services for Ms. Blew are scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2012 at 2 PM at Avant Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Smith and Bro. Clarence Davenport officiating. Interment will follow in the Hillview Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation with the Blew Family will be at Avant Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 PM to 8 PM and on Monday from 12 Noon until service time at 2 PM.

43 year old Tony Lee Edge of McMinnville died Saturday at Riverpark Hospital. He was a member of the Keltonburg Missionary Baptist Church and a machine operator at the boot factory. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Lash Rice and Tom Hafstad will officiate and burial will be in the Burton, Ponder, and Puckett Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Lee Edge. Survivors include his mother, Delores Edge of McMinnville. A sister, Tammy Paulak and Kris of McMinnville. Grandmother, Thelma Webb. Two nieces, McKella Beddies and Matilyn Grace Beddies. A nephew, Brock Beddies. A son, Aaron Edge of McMinnville. Lisa Herman Mingus
46 year old Lisa Herman Mingus of Smithvillle died Thursday at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her father, Alford Kenneth Herman; her mother, Thelma Jean Colwell; a brother, James Eddie “Shorty” Herman; and two nephews. Survivors include a son, Michael Eugene and wife Amanda Lattimore of Smithville. A granddaughter, Brooklyn Rochelle Lattimore of Lawrenceburg. Brothers and sisters, Patricia and husband Jerry Lawson of Smithville, Frances and husband Joel Adcock of McMinnville, Kenneth Ray Herman of Smithville, and Brenda and husband Stevie Cripps of Smithville. Frances Hickey Garrison
89 year old Frances Hickey Garrison of Alexandria died Wednesday at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. A homemaker, she was born in New Middleton. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Betty Proctor Bjorgo will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday and Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday prior to the service. Garrison was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Garrison; a son, Paul W. Garrison; parents, Adron and Bessie Vaden Hickey; a sister, Elizabeth Juanita Argue; brothers, David A. Hickey, Jr. and James Ray Hickey. Survivors include a grandson, Paul Wesley Garrison and his fiancee, Tracy of Alexandria. George Brian Clayton
50 year old George Brian Clayton of Dowelltown died Tuesday at his residence. He was employed at the Farmers Coop. A memorial service will be Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Stewart O’Rell will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the service at 6:00 p.m. He is survived by his wife, Dawn Clayton of Dowelltown. Parents, George and Marjorie Clayton of Dowelltown. Brothers and sisters, Diana and husband Tadzau Sokol of Massachusetts, Valarie and husband Dennis Leasure of Smithville, Jonathan Teed of New Jersery, Jody Jones of Smithville, and Jeremy Clayton of Dowelltown. Six nieces and nephews, Carrie Cantrell, Tammy Weaver, Eric Bujnevicie, Nick Bond, Jacob Bond, and Holly Clayton. Several great nieces and nephews and friends survive. James Reece Looney
86 old James Reece Looney died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. He was Superintendent of East Tennessee Bridge Builders and a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was on the USS Solomons Aircraft Carrier Ship CVE67. Looney was a Seaman 1st Class. He was also a member of the Johnson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Johnson Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Gary Farris will officiate and burial will be in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until noon at the funeral home. Looney was preceded in death by his parents, James Houston and Callie Armenda Jackson Looney; six sisters, Edith Cantrell, Mary Lou Robinson, Sally Cantrell, Auda Mae Maynard, Pauline Billings, and Willie Dimple Maynard. Looney is survived by his wife of 63 years, Polly Collins Looney of Sparta. Five children, Lana Paulette Green of Dalton, Georgia; James Randall and wife Sherry Looney of Knoxville; Denise Barlow of Cookeville; Claudia Michelle Maynard of Sparta; and Armenta and husband Jerry Pollard of Smithville. Five grandchildren, Amanda Phillips of Dalton, Georgia; Michael Randall Looney of Knoxville, Kyle Matthew and wife Saraya Anderson of Sparta, Alex Reece Pollard of Smithville,and Hope Marie Maynard of Sparta. Three great grandchildren, Mackenzie Reece Phillips, Madison Danielle Phillips, and Mia Callie Phillips. One brother and sister-in-law, Wilburn H. and Geneva Looney of Sparta. 86 year old Mary Francis Joins of Smithville died Sunday at Raintree Manor in McMinnville. She was a member of Banks Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired from the shirt factory. The funeral will be Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Glenn Warren and Michael Cripps will officiate with burial in Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 4:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee and Nellie Marie Cope Roller; her husband of 62 years, David Joins; sister, Narcissis Seals, and a brother, Samuel Roller. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William Robert and Brenda Joins of Smithville; grandaughter, Heather and husband Carey Newman of McKenzie; great-grandson, William David Newman of McKenzie; sisters, Emma Lee Pedigo, Sophie and husband Calvin “Sid” Stewart, Willie Mae “Bill” and husband Ralph Kirby all of McMinnville, and Marie Duke of Garden City, Michigan; brother, R.L. and wife Doris Roller of Farmersville, Lousiana. 52 year old Johnny Van Lewis of Liberty died Thursday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was a sales representative for Liberty Mutual Insurance and a member of the Real Life Community Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Forest Jackson will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until the service at 4:00 p.m. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ann Nichols Lewis and a brother, Charlie Lewis. Survivors include his wife, Lisa Lewis of Liberty. Two sons, Justin Michael Lewis of Liberty and Gabriel Van and wife Brittney Lewis of Murfreesboro. Two brothers, Tommy Lewis of Ashland City and Edward Lewis of Pleasant View. Two sisters, Marilyn Head and Deborah Lewis both of Ashland City. 89 year old John Howard Hart of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was retired from Robbins Tire and Rubber. Hart was also a Pentecostal. The funeral will be Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Florence, Alabama. Larry Burbank and Paul Holloway, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Grove Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Florence, Alabama. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 5:00 p.m. at the church. Hart was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Delta Marie Hart and his former wife, Ruby Parrish Hart. Survivors include his wife, Lola Marie Murphy Hart of Smithville. A son, Charles Hart of Florence, Alabama.
