Eva Gray Moss Youngblood

82 year old Eva Gray Moss Youngblood of Woodbury died Friday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Born in DeKalb County, she was a member of the Church of Christ and a pre-school teacher. The funeral will be Monday at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Leoni Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday until the time of the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Winston Moss and Alice Roberta Bryant Moss; her husband, Mayne B. Youngblood; her brother, Robert Edward Moss. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Cortilla and Donald Fann of Woodbury. Grandchildren, Chloe Hattie Fann and Corinne Fann of Woodbury. James Milton Preston

91 year old James Milton Preston of Woodbury died Friday at NHC of Smithville. He was born in Cannon County. Preston was a deacon at the Woodland Baptist Church, a veteran of World War II having served in the Army. He was a farmer and he worked in construction. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Woodland Baptist Church. Greg Mitchell and John Robinson will officiate and burial will be in the Amity Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at the church. Preston was preceded in death by his parents, Hervey Preston and Verna Griffith Preston; two grandchildren, Jimmy Preston and Virginia Preston; and a sister, Margaret Gilley. Survivors include his wife of 65 ½ years, Margaret Inglis Preston of Woodbury. Children, Regina and husband Wayne Pack and Helen Preston all of Smithville; David and wife Jackie Preston of Beech Grove, Russell and wife Kay Preston of Manchester, Charles and wife Kathy Preston, Terry Preston, and Donald Preston all of Woodbury. Ethel Waggoner

86 year old Ethel Waggoner of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the New West Point Free Will Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Royce Moore and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ova Colwell; her husband, George Clarence Waggoner; and a son, Glen Waggoner. Survivors include her children, Kenneth and wife Frances Waggoner of Smithville, Peggy Sue Gillespie of McMinnville, Rosie Waggoner, Judy Walker, and Rita and husband Mike Koby all of Smithville. 90 year old Bonnie Lee Turner of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Turner was preceded in death by her parents, Clifton A. and Ruby Lawrence Barnes; her husband, Johnnie Turner; a grandson, Shane Hawkins; and brothers, Lonnie, George, and Hobart Barnes. Survivors include children, Dorothy L. and husband Dr. Ryan Masters, and Haskell Junior and wife Anna Hawkins all of Smithville. A granddaughter and caregiver, Rebecca Burnette. 90 year old Louise Nixon Alexander of Watertown died Monday at University Medical Center in Lebanon. Born in DeKalb County, Alexander was retired from Robertshaw Lux Time and a member of the Round Lick Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Round Lick Baptist Church. Rick Burns will officiate and burial will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Wilson Alexander; parents, Calvin and Verna Judkins Nixon; and a brother, Robert Dee Nixon. Survivors include daughters, Linda and husband Phillip Parkerson of Lebanon and Jean and husband Mike Flynn of LaVergne. 63 year old Ammon Davis Billings, Jr. of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church and he was retired from Carrier after working there for 36 years. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ammon Davis, Sr. and Hazel Pauline Mabe Billings. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa Billings of Smithville. Four children, Scarlet Adcock of Smyrna, Aleisha Fuson, Tonya Evans, and Ammon “Trey” , III and wife Heather Billings all of Smithville. 90 year old Eva Hendrixson Hill of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Baptist and retired from the Smithville Shirt Factory. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home with Dwayne Cornelius and Richard Felts officiating. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mai Hendrixson; step mother, Clara Hendrixson Randalls; a son, Donald Hill; and three brothers, Paul, Vernon, and Roy Hendrixson. She is survived by three children, Polly Hill, Faye Hill Hendrix, and Wayne and his wife Vivian Hill all of Smithville. 87 year old Mandy Edna Vaughn of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Church of God and a retired inspector of the shirt factory. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Vaughn; parents, Toy and Trudie Pedigo; a daughter, Lois Clemmons; three sisters, Bill Cantrell, Evelyene Sandlin, and Myrtle Stanley; and five brothers, James, Elmo, Leo, Cordell, and Floyce Pedigo. 87 year old Geneva Hale Davis of Watertown died Monday at University Medical Center. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, daughter of the late William Thomas and Ethel Ray Arnold. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence Edward Hale and Burley Davis; daughters, Joyce Hill and Judy Hasan-Gammons; grandson, Brian Mchaffa; sister, Ruby Beatrice Cantrell and brother, Clifford Arnold. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Billy Hale and Roger Grisham will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m..
