Billy Joe Madden

34 year old Billy Joe Madden of Smithville and formerly of Nashville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was self employed and a Baptist. The family has chosen direct cremation. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Spring Street The Baptist Church. Jack Patterson will officiate. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard L. Madden, Jr. Survivors include his fiance, Marina Cornett and special daughters, Meagan Madden and Makayla Cornett all of Smithville; mother, Carol Walker Benton of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Edward Ball, Jr. of Antioch and James Ball of Ohio. A sister, Debra Fitzwater of Washington. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Benjamin Eugene Cole

44 year old Benjamin Eugene Cole of Indian Mound Road died Wednesday at his residence. Cole was born in White County to Faye Knowles Cole and the late Benjamin “Ben” Cole. He was an electrician and plumber. In addition to his father, he is also preceded in death by a son Jacob Lucian Cole. Survivors include his wife Cindy Howell Cole of Sparta A son: Benjamin Cole of Rickman. A granddaughter: Sierra Walker. A grandson: Jacob Lucian Stewart. His mother: Faye Cole of Sparta. A brother: Bryan Cole of Sparta. Father & mother-in-law: Dewey and Dorothy Cole. Brothers-in-law: Greg and Junior Howell. Several good friends and extended family. The funeral service will be 1:00pm Friday at the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta with burial in Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6:00 pm Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Ronnie Taylor and Joe Neal will officiate.

Sammie “Bunt” Adams

79 year old Sammie “Bunt” Adams of Powell, Tennessee and formerly of Macon County died at his residence. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 p.m. from the Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Lafayette with Elder J. E. Shoulders officiating. Visitation with the family will begin Saturday at 12:30 p.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the church. Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Mylinda “Punkin”& Elder Joey Hackett of Lafayette; son & daughter-in-law, Danny “Pee-Wee” & Marlene Adams of Smithville; granddaughter, Coty Hackett and grandson, Dustin Hackett, both of Lafayette. 93 year old John B. Henry of Brentwood, TN passed away on Monday, February 6 from complications of diabetes. John loved and enjoyed a secondary home on Pucketts Point Road, Smithville, TN. Sally Rose McClain

68 year old Sally Rose McClain of Cookeville died Saturday at NHC of Smithville. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Paran Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from noon until the service. She is survived by her husband, Willard McClain; two sons, Gardner and Daniel McClain; a brother, Porter Webb; and three sisters, Mildred Turner, Jo Evans, and Milus Barrett. Myrtis Puckett Winton

91 year old Myrtis Puckett Winton of Smithville died Sunday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a nurse and a member of the Buckner’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Robin Phillips will officiate and burial will be in the Burton-Ponder Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Ollie Pack Moore; two husbands, Houston Puckett and Jack Winton; a son, Marvin Puckett; a brother, Jim Moore, Jr.; and a sister, Mable Hill Duke. Survivors include two children, Darwin and wife Delores Puckett of Lebanon and Brenda and husband Wayne Vanderpool of Smithville. Daughter-in-law, Beth Puckett of Smithville. A step-daughter, Beth Bagwell of California. Six grandchildren, Reed Vanderpool, Melissa Wallace, Naith Puckett, Shea Puckett, Amy Cushing, and Amanda Puckett. Four great grandchildren, Emily, Harper, Liam Wallace, and Carolina Cushing. A brother, Kenneth and wife Dorla Moore of Dowelltown. Sister-in-law, Sara Moore of Woodbury. Leslie Nicole Greene Lytle

33 year old Leslie Nicole Greene Lytle of McMinnville died Monday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born in Murfreesboro, formerly worked as a E-911 dispatcher for Warren and DeKalb Counties, and attended Cornerstone Baptist Church. Lytle was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Oscar Manning and paternal grandparents Earl Greene and Ethel Greene Cantrell.
Survivors include her husband Russell Lytle, son Hayden Manning Lytle, daughter Kennedy Eden Jade Lytle, parents Perry and Rita Greene all of McMinnville; sister, Lindsey Lynese Greene, Manchester; maternal grandmother Linda Manning of Smithville; mother-in-law Annie Moffitt and husband David, McMinnville; father-in-law David Lytle of McMinnville; and special uncle and aunt Earline and Jenean Bain of Smithville. Other cousins, aunts, uncles, family members and friends also survive.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel.. Phillip Rowland will officiate. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 P.M. until 9 P.M. and again Wednesday from 9 A.M. until 1 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home.

Bessie Lee Taylor Driver

85 year old Bessie Lee Taylor Driver of Liberty died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker, member of the Alexandria First Baptist Church and she attended the Brush Creek United Methodist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Jerry Driver will officiate and burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Madison and Mary Alice Martin Taylor; husband, Avin Driver; son, Charles Driver; a great grandson, Jimmy Lee Gibbs; two sons-in-law, Jimmy Hullett and Bobby Jackson; two brothers, Johnny Taylor and James Taylor; and a sister, Inez Holland. Survivors include eight children, Alice Hullett of Dowelltown, Wayne and wife Donna Driver of Alexandria, James and wife Donna Driver of Dagsboro Delaware; Marie and husband Bo Tyree of Watertown; Terri Dodd of Dowelltown, Cindy and husband David Avera of Alexandria, Helen and husband David Bennett of Antioch, Tennessee and Linda Jackson of Smyrna. 68 year old W.H. Webb of McMinnville died Friday at his sister’s residence. He was a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church; he served in the National Guard; and he worked in landscaping. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Douglas Webb will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Webb was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Irene Webb. He is survived by a son, Jacob Webb of McMinnville. Three sisters, Sue Beshearse and Gail and husband Doyle Slager both of Dowelltown, and Patty and husband Eddie Malone of Smithville. One brother, Ray Donald and wife Betty Webb of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 52 year old Debra Ann Dunn of McMinnville died Friday at River Park Hospital. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jackie Matheny will officiate and burial will be in the Bluff Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Layla Pinegar; one nephew, Percy Pinegar III, and one niece, Shanna Tatrow Pinegar. Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Dunn; two sons, Billy and wife Lashonda Dunn and Johnny and wife Amanda Pinegar; one daughter, Jimmy Lynn Dunn; two grandchildren, Lake Dunn and Isaac Pinegar;parents, Percy and Nancy Jane Smith Pinegar; one sister, Cynthia and husband Jimmy Beacham; three brothers, Charles and wife Melissa Pinegar and David Pinegar all of McMinnville and Percy and wife Rhodessa Pinegar of Smithville.
