79 year old Jack Cheatam Corley of Liberty died Saturday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. He was a farmer. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Alva Burton Corley and a niece, Wendy Willoughby. Survivors include a sister, Sue and husband Billy Willoughby of Alexandria. Brothers, Roy Burton and wife Jackie Corley of Springfield, Missouri; Roger Corley of Smithville; and Albert Corley of Liberty. 79 year old Alice Louise Cox of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Smithville Church of Christ, manager of Furrs Cafeteria and a homemaker. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Dan Gulley will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 10:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mittie Tackett Wilson; her husband, Jesse E. Cox; a son, Gary Eugene Cox; two sisters; a brother; and a granddaughter, Mandy Cartwright. Survivors include daughters, Linda Cartwright and Debra Robertson both of Smithville. A son, Stanley and wife Judy Cox of Oklahoma. Grandchildren, Jesse Cox of Smithville, Bridget and husband Bob Hailey of Oklahoma, Andrea Barton of Oklahoma and Erica Cox of Smithville. 91 year old Jodie Underwood Turner of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Bethel Methodist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Royce Martin will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Robert and Minnie Lee Hibdon Underwood; husband, James Floyd Turner; a grandchild, James Glenn Hicks III “Trey”; brothers, Grady, Houston, Charles, Toy, Homer, and Jackson Underwood; and five sisters, Cora Hall, Georgia Hildreth, Elsie Certain, Mable Eubanks, and Rachel Young. Gladys Silva Odom Knowles

Gladys Silva Odom Knowles of Smithville died Friday at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church and she attended Whorton Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Knowles was a school teacher for 44 years and she was a member of the DeKalb County Retired Teachers, FCE, Order of the Eastern Star #374, and she was a Sunday School Teacher for 40 years. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Dr. John Carpenter and David Mahan will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Knowles was preceded in death by her parents, Pascal Clyde (PC) Odom and Maude Gilreath Odom; step-mother, Garnet Tramel Odom; husband, L.D. Knowles; and many brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Survivors include a daughter Vickie and her husband Walter Burton of Smithville. 80 year old Frankie Hendrix Taylor of Dowelltown died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Methodist and an employee of Kingston Timer. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Snow Hill Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Taylor; parents, Frank and Connie Pack Hendrix; a son, Donnie Taylor; a grandchild, Tabitha Young; a brother, George and his wife Wilma Hendrix; half brothers, Shelton (Shag) Hendrixson, Woodrow Hendrixson, Oliver (Man) Hendrix, Delton Hendrixson, and Loycee Hendrixson; and half sisters, Martha Fisher and Odean Arnold. Survivors include two daughters, Regena Taylor and special friend, Jim Vaughn of Smithville and Cindy Malone of Temperance Hall. One son, Ricky and wife Ann Taylor of Dowelltown. 60 year old Daniel Joseph Yoskovich of Smithville died Sunday at his residence. He was a welder with Norfolk and Southern Railroad. The family has chosen direct cremation, however a memorial service will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife Vivian Yoskovich of Smithville. A son, Jayson Yoskovich of Michigan. Two daughters and a son-in-law, Heidi Helms and Dan Smith of Michigan and Heather Yoskovich of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Brendon Rich of Murfreesboro and Audrey Yoskovich of Michigan. Three brothers, Bill Yoskovich of Michigan, Tom Yoskovich of Smithville, and Dave Yoskovich of Michigan.
