51 year old Judy Ann Youngblood of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a cook/waitress at Neo’s Restaurant. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Myrtle Potts Vaughn; a brother and sister, Vernon Vaughn and Sandra Harper. Survivors include two sons, Chris Vaughn and Thomas Vaughn and his fiance, Autumn Hutchins; One daughter, Tiffanie Youngblood; A grandson, Ivan Hutchins; A nephew, T.J. Harper all of Smithville. J.E. Bain
80 year old J.E. Bain of Smithville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a farmer and a Pentecostal. The family has chosen direct cremation, however a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Christ Pentecostal Church at Brush Creek. Billy Hale will officiate. Visitation will be from noon until 1:00 p.m. Saturday. Bain was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Bertie Sue Atnip Bain; two daughters, Katrina Bain and Peggy Frances; a grandchild, Carol Jo Bain; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Honest, Bernice, and Alton Bain; and four sisters, Velma and Bonnie Bain, Flossie Linder, and Bertha May Bain. Survivors include six sons, Johnny and wife Kristy Bain of Lancaster, Jason Bain of Smithville, Jerry Bain of Temperance Hall, Jimmy Bain of Smithville, David and wife Priscilla Bain of Smithville, and Larry Bain of Smithville. 53 year old Michael Hart of Scottsboro, Alabama died suddenly at his home on Sunday December 25. He was employed by Rock Tenn Electrical Instrumentation. 88 year old Hazel Inez Redman Cantrell of Evansville, Indiana died Wednesday at her daughter’s residence. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rassie and Ida Young Redman; her husband, Solon Cantrell; a grandson, Jeffrey Ashley; twelve siblings, and several nieces and nephews. Survivors include four children, Michael and wife Flossie Cantrell, Sherry and husband Charlie Hiatt, Sandra and husband Alan Ault, and Carolyn and husband Ronald Marshall. 62 year old Patricia Ann White of Dowelltown died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of D.A.R. 1812 and U.D.C.. She was also a retired registered nurse. At Patricia’s request, her remains were cremated but a memorial service will be Saturday, January 7 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dowelltown United Methodist Church. Matt Long will officiate. She is survived by her parents, James H. and Ruth White of Dowelltown. Two brothers, Bobby and wife Sarah White of Alexandria and Stephen and wife Vicky White of Murfreesboro. Nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and husband Bryan Kleparek of Murfreesboro, James White of Dowelltown, Stephanie and husband Aaron Lawrence of Murfreesboro, John White of Baxter, Tamera White of Dowelltown, and Daniel and wife Caralee White of Smyrna. 89 year old Audrey Martella “Mama Tee” Kirby of Smithville died Sunday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was retired from Kingston Timer as a machine operator.
