John Wayne Braswell

60 year old John Wayne Braswell of Smithville died Wednesday at his residence. He was a Baptist, and a self employed handyman and farm worker. A graveside service will be Thursday at noon at Mount Holly Cemetery. Michael Hale will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at which time the family will depart for the cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Houston and Hattie Velma Fisher Braswell; and brothers, George Thomas, Cordell, Otis B., Gene, Jimmy, and Joe Braswell. He is survived by a brother, James Braswell of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

William Schuylar Ellis

89 year old William Schuylar Ellis of Liberty died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church and he attended the Fullers Chapel United Methodist Church. Ellis was also a farmer. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Matt Long, Wilson Williams, and Elmer Ellis, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, William Adamson and Ninnie Self Ellis; his wife, Mary Virginia Ellis; a son, William Schuylar Ellis, Jr; brothers, Elmer Ellis and Grady Ellis; and sisters, Athalene Driver and Lorene Vanatta. Survivors include three daughters, Lois and husband Wilson Williams of Liberty, Brenda and husband Skipper Stewart of Georgia, and Deborah and husband Don Castner of Clarksville. Grandchildren, LeeAnn and husband Michael Prince, Shasta and husband Billy Stanton, Will and wife Dana Stewart, Daniel and wife Emily Stewart, Beth Castner, and Matthew Castner. Jodean Adcock

83 year old Jodean Adcock of McMinnville died Tuesday at River Park Hospital. She was a member of the Sink Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Keltonburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Dillard and Alma Luna Jaco; her husband, Albert Haston Adcock; and a sister, Helen Judkins. Suvivors include children, Phyllis Nolan of Indianapolis, Indiana, Calvin Kent Adcock of Smithville, and Robyn Webb of McMinnville. Eight grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Sisters, Emma Jean Crain of Indiana, Dorothy Atnip of McMinnville, and Barbara Adcock of Smithville and Betty Moornaw of Indiana. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert “Bob” Milantoni

73 year old Robert “Bob” Milantoni of Smithville died Monday at his residence. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Milantoni was a long time patrol officer for the Detroit Police Department. He retired from the department in 1986. The family has chosen direct cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lieutenant Colonel P.A. Milantoni. Survivors include children, Lisa and husband Mark Nadon of St. Clair Shores, Jonathan and wife Amy Milantoni of St. Clair Shores, Donald Milantoni of Pompano Beach, Florida, and Douglas and wife Debbie of Eastpointe. Grandchildren, Meaghan and husband Matthew Lopiccolo, David, Daniel, Andrew, and Michael Nadon, Matthew and Alexandria Milantoni, Nicholas Milantoni, and Braiden and Hannah Quinn. Sisters and brothers, Anita Spartaro, John and wife Nancy Milantoni, George and wife Helen Milantoni, Fred Milantoni, Kathy Lint and Jena Elman. Gwynn Prater

53 year old Gwynn Prater of Smithville died Saturday at NHC Healthcare Center. He was a pipe fitter. A graveside service will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at DeKalb Cemetery. No visitation will be held. Prater was preceded in death by his parents, William Prater and Dorothy Greer Ervin; and a sister, Gail Walker. Survivors include a half-sister, Shirley and husband Raymond Joslyn of Smithville. A brother-in-law, Ronnie Walker of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews survive. Donations may be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in lieu of flowers.

Mary Virginia Ellis

89 year old Mary Virginia Ellis of Liberty died Saturday at her residence. She was a member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church and she attended the Fuller’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was a shirt factory worker. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m.. Ellis was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Virginia Ardelia Tittsworth Malone; a son, William Schuyler Ellis, Jr. and brothers, C.H. Malone and Billie Malone. Survivors include her husband, Schuylar Ellis of Liberty. Children, Lois and husband Wilson Williams of Liberty, Brenda and husband Skipper Stewart of Georgia, and Deborah and husband Don Castner of Clarksville. 81 year old Hugh Morris Young of Liberty died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was an auto body mechanic and a deacon at the Faith Congregational Methodist Church. He was born in Warren County. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Josh Hale will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday fron noon until the service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Lee Young; his parents, Dibrell Parker Young and Lula Gertrude Curtis Young; and a son, Joe Donald Young. Survivors include children, Eddie and wife Ernestine Young of Smithville, Terry and wife Lanee Young of Mount Juliet, Sherry and husband Charles Williams of Alexandria, Donna and husband Danny Hale of Brush Creek, Jeff and wife Julie Young of Alexandria, and Lesa and husband Alan Hayes of Liberty. Granddaughters, Whitney and husband Hunter Wharton and Chelsie Young. Harold Eugene Pack, Sr

78 year old Harold Eugene Pack, Sr. of Smithville died Monday at River Park Hospital. Pack was a Baptist and he served in the U.S. Army. He was also a set-up man, machinist, and a truck driver. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Royce Martin and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Pack was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Virginia Pedigo Pack; a son, Steve Pack; brothers, Jim, Furman, Herman, and Othel Pack; and sisters, Katie Pack and Emma Butler. Survivors include his wife, Betty Barnes Pack of Smithville. Seven children, Shirl and husband Tiny Barnes of Smithville; June Riebe of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Harold E. Jr. and wife Paulette Pack of Westmoreland; Patricia Stokes of Leesburg, Florida; James and wife Pam Barnes of Centertown; and Rick and wife Cynthia Barnes of Smyrna. Ten grandchildren. Brandon Michael Gray

23 year old Brandon Michael Gray of Smithville died Friday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was born in Murfreesboro and was a factory worker. Brandon was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Bob and Bernice Coats and paternal grandparents William and Dixie Gray.
Survivors include his mother Renee’ Coats of Murfreesboro, father Robert (Bob) Gray of Woodbury, children Kaidynce Gray and Aidyn Eley, and a sister Kristina Gray of Woodbury.. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, and family members also survive.
The memorial service is 3 P.M. Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Herb Alsup will officiate. Visitation is Friday from 12 P.M. Noon until 3 P.M. at McMinnville Funeral Home.
