George Washington Roberts, Sr.

84 year old George Washington Roberts, Sr. died Sunday at Raintree Manor in McMinnville of an extended illness. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a Baptist minister. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of High Funeral Home. Dal Barrett will officiate and burial will be in the Shellsford Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah and Lou Barnes Roberts; his wife Berta Leola Bess Roberts; and a brother, John Roberts. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, George Washington, Jr. and Beverly Dianne Roberts of Morrison, Terry Lee Roberts of McMinnville, Barry Lynn “Fuzz” and Carol Roberts of the Irving College Community, and Paul David Roberts of Gainesboro. Four grandchildren and spouses, Laurie Ann Roberts and Billy Wayne Delong of McMinnville, Julie Leann Roberts and Ryan John Jagoda of Casco, Michigan, Aaron Michael and Hollie Roberts of Morrison, and Jessica Danielle Roberts and Tyler Smith of Morrison. Six great grandchildren, McKenzie Roberts and Benjamin Smith both of Morrison, Timothy David Delong and Ashley Danielle Rarick of McMinnville, Anna Caitlin Jagoda and Jason Michael Jagoda both of Casco, Michigan. Roberta Corlenia Parton

72 year old Roberta Corlenia Parton of Smithville died Friday at NHC. She was a retired hairdresser and a member of the Church of Christ, A graveside service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville. No visitation will be held at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Artie Hardison Norris.; two brothers, Bobby and Rufus Norris; and husband, Ralph Parton. Allie Mai Taylor Fuson

101 year old Allie Mai Taylor Fuson of Smithville died Friday at her residence. She was a homemaker and oldest member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. James Gibbs, Terry Fesler, and Mike Carpenter will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Fannie Hendrixson Taylor; her husband Roy Fuson; a son Willie Lee Fuson; a grandson David Lee Malone; a brother, Othel Taylor; and a son-in-law, Odell Starnes. 68 year old Jean Hooper Clendenon of Smithville died Friday at NHC Healthcare in Smithville. She was retired from TRC in Smyrna and a member of Whorton Springs Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David Mahan and Lash Rice will officiate with burial in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the service at 5:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brownie Clendenon, and parents, Charlie Ervin and Mildred Pauline Miller Adcock. She is survived by two sons, Billy Jr. and wife Melissa Hooper, and Jeff Hooper; one granddaughter, Jessica and husband Pete Taylor, one great-grandson, Aiden Taylor’ and a brother, Dean and wife Wanda Adcock, all of Smithville. Stepson, John Clendenon of McMinnville; stepdaughter, Summer Foster of Woodbury; three step grandchildren, Cody Clendenon of McMinnville, Seth and Sydney Foster of Woodbury. 56 year old Joe Donald Young of Murfreesboro died Thursday at his residence. He worked for Nissan as a lead technician for 27 years and was also a self-employed body shop owner. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Douglas Webb will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Young was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jo Webb Little; his step-mother, Georgia Young; a daughter, Paula Jo Young. Survivors include his wife, Carmen Young of Murfreesboro. A son, J.D. Young of Smithville. A daughter, Amanda Niper of Fairview. A grandson, Joseph Landon Pack. His father, Morris Young of Liberty. 92 year old Ms. Jimmie Thweatt of Memphis died Wednesday at her daughter’s residence. She was a housewife and a Baptist. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie H. Thweatt; parents, John and Mattie Thweatt; a daughter, Charlotte Bruno; three sisters; and two brothers. 96 year old Bill Evins Hendrixson of McMinnville died Thursday of an extended illness. He was the retired owner of Hendrixson Trucking Company, Hendrixson Hatcheries, and a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church. He was also a past member of the Tennessee Aeronautics Commission under Governor Lamar Alexander. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 3:15 p.m. at High Funeral Home in McMinnville. Hendrixson was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe N. Hendrixson and Elsie Evins Hendrixson; his wife of 64 years, Josephine Davis Hendrixson; and two brothers, Sellars and Tolbert Hendrixson. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosalyn and Earl Partin of McMinnville and Lizanne and Jim Hunter of Louisville, Kentucky.
