80 year old Polly R. Park died Monday at Yale, Michigan. She was a resident of St. Clair Shore Michigan and a former resident of the Peeled Chestnut Community. She was a Presbyterian and a retired school bus driver. A graveside service will be Monday at noon at the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Tommy Davis will officiate. Visitation will follow the service at the cemetery. Park was preceded in death by her husband, Raymon Park and parents, Henderson and Callie Billings Jackson. Survivors include two daughters, Evie and husband John Smallacombe of Croswell, Michigan and Anne and husband Doug Hoffmann of White Lake, Michigan. 27 year old Christy Lynn Herring of Smithville died Wednesday at her residence. Herring was a salesperson and she attended the Mount Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church. A memorial service will be Friday at 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bernard Houk will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her father, Greg Mitchell Herring. Survivors include her mother and step-father, Lisa and Wayne Merritt of Smithville. A sister, Callie Howell of Smithville. One brother, Wyatt Alsdorf of Florida. Tammy Donnell Griffin
Tammy Donnell Griffin died Wednesday at her residence. She was the daughter of Albert Donnell and the late Joan Malone Donnell. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Francis and Alta Mae Malone and Howard and Grace Donnell. She was a 1977 graduate of DeKalb County High School. She was married to George Michael Griffin on January 1, 1985, and was a member of the West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria. She worked for Stones River Hospital as an Insurance Representative. Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband, Michael Griffin and two children, Tara and Tyler Griffin all of Alexandria. Her father, Albert Donnell and his wife Susan of Auburntown. A brother, Tony Donnell of Watertown. Sister-in-law, Jennifer Donnell of Watertown. Special cousin, Stevie Dedmon of Gordonsville. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the West Main Baptist Church. Ben Simpson will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Memorial Cemetery. 53 year old Thomas David Hullett of Smithville died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a construction worker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dillard Johnson will officiate and burial will be at the Hullett Cemetery at a later time. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. Hullett was preceded in death by his father, Brisco Hullet; a son, Thomas Brandon Dee Hullett; and a brother, Gary Lynn Hullett. Survivors include two sisters, Arlene Cookie Hullett of Smithville and Frances Norene “Renny” Stison of Bon Aqua. Two brothers, Erbin Brisco Hullett of Knox Indiana and Michael Allen Hullett of Nashville. A half sister, Rose Mary Luna of Wilmington, Delaware. Special companion, Joyce Judkins of Smithville. 57 year old Gary (Gene) Cox of Smithville died Thursday at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a U.S. veteran, a carpenter, and a homebuilder. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. John Patterson, Jr. and Tim Woodward will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse E. 64 year old Jewel Reed Arnold of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a retired machine operator at Carrier Corporation and a Primitive Baptist minister. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Elder Jeff Winfrey will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Robinson. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Christeen Young Arnold; a son, Dennis Reed and wife Gina Arnold; five grandchildren, Kealah Curtis, Adam, Jordan, Bryson, and Samuel Arnold all of Smithville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until the service at 4:30 p.m. He was preceded in death by his wives, Christine Cobble and Ruby Cobble; parents, Will and Addie Mae Cobble; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rose Cobble; two other sons, James Cobble, Johnny Paul Cobble; two sisters, Maggie Cobble and Valley Hucklebee; and two grandchildren, Angel and Chris Cobble. 88 year old Marvin T. Naive, Jr. of Brentwood died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. A memorial service will be Thursday at noon at the United Methodist Church of Brentwood, where he was a member. He was a salesperson/entrepreneur; a Mason, member of the National Geographic Society, Sons of Confederate Veterans, and the Boonesboro Society. Naive was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Thomas, Sr. and Sara Naive; a son; a daughter; and a sister. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jewel Naive of Brentwood.
