32 year old Gabriel Dale Craig of Smithville died Monday in McMinnville. He was a member of the New Town The Baptist Church. Craig was also disabled. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. David Frazier will officiate and burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Craig was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert J. Turner and his father-in-law, Stanley Nunley. Craig is survived by his wife, Amy Craig of McMinnville. A daughter, Ayala Craig of McMinnville. 70 year old Bobby Underhill of Cookeville died Sunday at Vanderbilt Hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service time. Amos Winters Phann, Sr.
73 year old Amos Winters Phann, Sr. died Friday of an extended illness at NHC of Smithville. He was born in Gainesboro; a member of the Harmony Church of Christ in Jackson County; and a small engine mechanic. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Danny Parker will officiate and burial will be in the Mount Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlin and Julia Hamlet Phann and a son, Winters Phann, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Sue Watts Phann of Smithville. 80 year old Ravanell Judkins Driver of Smithville died Wednesday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. She was a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens Silver Sneakers. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. David Mahan and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Driver; children, Steve and Eddy Driver; brothers, Troy and Glenn Judkins; and her parents, Ruth and Poper Lynam Judkins. 65 year old Cheryl Ann Stralow of McMinnville died Tuesday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. She was a member of the Dayspring Community Church and an office manager and controller. A memorial service will be Thursday, December 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Dayspring Community Church. Rex Boles will officiate. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ruth Paul Stull. She is survived by her husband of 26 3/4 years, Merle Stralow of McMinnville. Children, Christine Parr of McMinnville, Kelly and husband Ken Straws of Redding, California; Cynthia Berghofer of California, and Joel Stralow of Minnesota. 76 year old Hoyte F. Hale of Smithville died Sunday at Stones River Hospital. He was a member of the Blue Springs Old Fashion Free Will Baptist Church. He was also retired from Federal Mogul. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. David Lawson and Paul Taylor will officiate and burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. Hale was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Dexie Hale; brothers, James L. and Lloyd L. 90 year old Ruby S. Quintero of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a TSR with the IRS and a Baptist. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Mark Bass will officiate and burial will be in the National Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Inglewood Baptist Church in Nashville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Quintero; parents, C.W. and Georgia Bass Small; three brothers, Wesley, Neal, and Tom Small; and two sisters, Era Archer and Georgia Ellis. Helen Evins Adcock
88 year old Helen Evins Adcock died Thursday of an extended illness. She lived most of her life in Smithville. Adcock was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ramond Adcock and son Ward Adcock. She is survived by her son, Ken Adcock and his wife, Kim Adcock of Jackson, Mississippi. A sister, Jo Doris Boles of Orlando, Florida. Five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association at P.O. Box 96011, Washington DC 20090-6011, or donor’s choice. Visitation will be held at the Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville on Saturday, December 4th from 10:00 a.m. until noon with a graveside service to follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Dr. Harvey Haywood Barham
Dr. Harvey Haywood Barham, age 85, of Bolivar, Tennessee, passed away November 29, 2010. He is credited with delivering over five decades of family medical care in Hardeman County.
A former chief of staff and board member of Bolivar General Hospital, Dr. Barham also served on the Hardeman County Health Department Board of Directors and as county coroner. He was a past-president of the Bolivar Medical Dental Arts Corporation and the Consolidated Medical Assembly of West Tennessee. He was a lifetime member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He served as a medical corpsman with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific Theater during the height of World War II. Dr. Barham served as deacon emeritus, Bolivar First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Opha Siler Barham of Madison County, his first wife, June Adams Barham, a son, Harvey Barham, Jr., and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Barham; one daughter, Donna (Lloyd) Emmons of Smithville, and four sons, Mike (Laurie) Barham of Lebanon, Ohio, Steven ( Lori) Marberry of Dyersburg, son Scott (Laura) Barham of Naples, Fla., and Phillip Barham of Jackson; twelve grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 2 at Shackelford Funeral Home from 5-8 pm and on Friday, December 3 at Bolivar First Baptist Church from noon until the time of the service at 1 pm. Following the service, burial will be at Bolivar Memorial Cemetery.
