63 year old Wanda Fay Harrison of Dowelltown died Monday at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She was a factory worker at Federal Mogul and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Leonard Herman will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lem and Betty Bogle; grandparents, Albert and Elsie Bogle; and Pet and Hallie Nokes. Survivors include five sisters, Brenda and husband Thurman Bennett of Lebanon, Marie and husband Kenneth Derting of Liberty, Elsie and husband Ray Fish of Statesville, Anita Thornton of Smyrna, and Lisa and husband Dwayne Bowen of Smithville. Two brothers, Thomas and wife Annie Bogle of Liberty and Danny and wife Joyce Bogle of Smithville. An aunt, Lola M. Ashburn of Smithville. Trena Ann Satterfield
49 year old Trena Ann Satterfield of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member and pastor of the Bethlehem Community Church; a member of G.R.O.W. and she worked at Nurse One in McMinnville. The fineral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Steve Breedlove will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl “Sonny” Gilbert and Helena Driver. Survivors include her husband, Mike Satterfield of Smithville. A son, Cody Satterfield and his fiance, Carolina Noyola of Smithville. A brother, Carl Gilbert and his wife Yvonne of Smithville. Her step-mother, Janie Gilbert of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Charlie Alfred Hood, Jr.
82 year old Charlie Alfred Hood, Jr., retired from Bell South and resident of Skelley Lane, died Friday at Centennial Medical Center.
The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols in Columbia with Curtis Dowdy and Charles Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery with military honors provided at graveside by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Charlie A. Hood, Sr. and Bessie Shannon Hood. He was a 1946 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the U. S. Air Force. He worked as a tollboard testman for Bell South Telephone Company for 43 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
Mr. Hood was a long-time member of Highland Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Theola Oakley Hood of Columbia; son, Ricky Wayne (Sherri) Hood of Smithville; grandsons, Chris Hood and Dustin Hood; sister, Peggy McEwen of Columbia; special nephews, Jerry (Shirley) Oakley of Santa Fe and Jimmy (Fay) Oakley of Decatur, Alabama; several other nieces and nephews.

Dorothy Ione Miller
83 year old Dorothy Ione Miller of Smithville died Sunday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Home Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. and Mike Clayborn will officiate and burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Homer Miller; parents, Edmund and Martha Thompson Sandlin; granddaughter, Christie Miller, three brothers, Clarence, Junior, and Ewin Sandlin; three sisters, Lillie Mae Dutton, Sarah Bain, and Emmie Carter; and a son-in-law, Author Redmon. Survivors include two sons, Carlon and Billy Miller; two daughters, Shirley Redmon and Tammy and her husband Stephen McDonald. Nine grandchildren, Jason and Kacy Miller, Anthony and Preston Miller, Jamie, Jennifer, and Joseph Pack, and Angie and Chester Williams all of Smithville, Tina and Ron Pascal of Alexandria, Leslie Maples of McMinnville. 60 year old Kathy Prater Crouch, a WJLE secretary for 19 years, died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital of an extended illness. She was born in Cannon County. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Leoni Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe L. “Lem” Prater; a brother, Lanny Prater; a sister, Lavada Duggin; and a grandson, Trace Allan Underhill. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Ken Underhill of Smithville. A son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Sasha Crouch of Smithville. Her ex-husband, Wayne Crouch of Rock Island. 92 year old Beulah Lee Joins of Smithville died Friday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a retired factory worker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. B.J. Thomason and Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Joins; parents, Herbert and Joanner Mullican Tramel; a daughter Yolinda Dunn; and a brother, W.J. Tramel. She is survived by a sister, Hallie Agee of Dowelltown. Three nieces, Glinda and her husband Clifford Randolph of Dowelltown, Regina Kent (Regina’s husband was the late Jerry Kent), and Brenda Tramel. Robert Don Malone
69 year old Robert Don Malone of Hannahs Branch Road, Liberty died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was born in DeKalb County, the son of the late Elva Ray Parkerson and Harvey Braxton Malone. A brother, Roy Lee Malone and a sister, Frances Moss preceded him in death. He worked in construction and retired from McPherson and Shaw Construction. Malone was a director on the DeKalb Telephone Cooperative board, having been re-elected to a third term in September, representing the Temperance Hall exchange. He was a longtime member of the Pisgah United Methodist Church where he served as song leader. Malone is survived by his wife of 50 years, Loretta Hawker Malone. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky and Terry Malone of Liberty and David and Genia Malone of Gordonsville. Four grandchildren, Benjamin, John, Anna, and Carey Malone. A brother, Billy and his wife Betty Jean Malone. Sisters, Jimmy and her husband David Carter and Debbie and her husband Danny Bishop. The body is at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria where the funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Matthew Long will officiate and burial will be in the Pisgah Church Cemetery. 30 year old Terry Wayne Johnson of Alexandria died Tuesday at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Smith County. He was a tree trimmer with J & L Tree Service and a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Pentecostal Church. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his step-father, James Lackey; grandmother, Pauline Johnson; uncles, Sherman and Billy Wayne Johnson; and an aunt, Rita Faye Gorman. 69 year old Howard Stanley of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the United Pentecostal Church and a retired employee of Coca Cola. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Ernest Colvin and Billy Shoulders will officiate and burial will be in the Braswell Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. Stanley was preceded in death by twin infant sons and another son, Christopher Stanley; parents, Claude and Ailene Stanley; infant sister, Margie Nell Stanley; and grandparents, Lloyd and Nancy Stanley and Shelah and Esta Parsley. 88 year old Frank William Fain of Smithville died Monday night at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. He was a citrus grower manager and he attended the Allen’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Haisley Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, Florida. Phil Tollett will officiate and burial will be in the White City Cemetery in Fort Pierce, Florida. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Thomas Fain; his parents, Richard and Nellie Shiflet Fain; brothers, Floyd and John Fain; and sisters, Mavis Benefield and Launa Pruitt. Survivors include two daughters, Mickey Currington of Florahome, Florida and Kitty Vonckx of Smithville. Sisters, Genelle Adams of Tavares, Florida and Viola Pruitt of Fruitland Park, Florida.
