77 year old Robert Lee Engler of Smithville died Tuesday at NHC. He was a retired engineer with the City of Cincinnati. He was also a Catholic. The family has chosen direct cremation. Ina Mae Tramel Hendrixson
91 year old Ina Mae Tramel Hendrixson of Smithville died Monday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. A native of DeKalb County, she was a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church, the Methodist Woman’s Society, the Eastern Star, the American Legion, and she was a former volunteer Candy Striper at the hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Smithville First United Methodist Church. Terry Little will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Hendrixson; her parents, Thomas H. and Ruthie I. Tramel; brothers, Alton Tramel and James Tramel; and a sister, Robbie Tramel Watts. Survivors include two daughters, Paulette Parsley and her husband Cleo McDonald of Cookeville and Tricia and her husband James Wood of Madison, Alabama. Three granddaughters, Paula Lynn and husband Joe Yost of Kennesaw, Georgia; Stephanie and husband John M. Cooper, IV of Spring Hill; and Sonja and husband Thomas Franks, Jr. of Athens, Alabama. Grandson, Jason Tramel Parsley and wife, Cece of White House. Six great grandchildren, Ashleigh Franks, Justin Yost, Rachel Yost, Samantha Franks, Emmaline Cooper, and John Marshall Cooper, V. 69 year old Nina Moser Turner of Smithville died Saturday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a factory worker and a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Terry Fesler and Junior Ellis will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Marlin and Ophie Lee Hubbard Moser. Survivors include her husband, Boyd Turner of Smithville. A brother, Willie and his wife Linda Moser of Smithville. A sister, Reba Stewart of Smithville. 46 year old Kenneth L. Van Patten of Rockwood died Friday at Roane Medical Center in Harriman. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 25th at the home of his sister in Rockwood. Van Patten was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marlene Van Patten and a brother, Michael Van Patten. Survivors include two sons, Kyle Van Patten and Dillon Caldwell; two step-children, Mikey Cisson and Savannah Whitehead. Three sisters, Cindy and husband Vic Loden of Rockwood, Debbie Suarez of Dowelltown, and Bonnie and husband Floyd Cantrell of Smithville. A sister-in-law, Dorothy Van Patten of Binghamton, New York. 30 year old Shannon Jefferson Atnip of Dowelltown died Thursday at his residence. He was a nursery worker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. 42 year old Pamela Sue Smith of Manchester died Sunday at Erlanger Medical Center. She was a factory worker and a member of West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Hillview Cemetery in Alexandria. Javon Lawson will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel at which time the body will be taken to the cemetery for the service. She was preceded in death by her father, Verlon Duncan. 75 year old Marie Rucker Keaton of Alexandria died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of Neely’s Bend Baptist Church and she attended the Upper Helton Baptist Church. Keaton was also a retired factory worker. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Jason Groe and Javan Lawson will officiate and burial will be in the Hillview Cemetery. Jimmie A. Evans
64 year old Jimmie A. Evans of Smithville died Friday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center of a short illness. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a retired Master Sergeant (E-8) from the United States Army. He was also the former superintendent for Rhodes Construction Company in Murfreesboro. He was a 1964 graduate of Central High School in Murfreesboro. He was preceded in death by his father, Harry L. Evans of Smithville and his mother-in-law, Ruth White of Murfreesboro. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan White Evans; son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Liz Evans; a granddaughter, Megan Evans; step grandchildren, Trevor Taylor, Scheyenne Taylor, and Eric Taylor all of Smithville. He is also survived by his mother, Katie Evans and a sister Lisa Hazlett both of Murfreesboro. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Joan Harrah of Nashville and Jane and husband David Lanehart of Murfreesboro. Nieces also survive. The family has chosen direct cremation but a memorial service will be at DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Thomas Fitts will officiate. 44 year old Priscilla Ann Davidson Judkins of Smithville died Wednesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Life and Praise Worship Center. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wayne Davidson, Sr.; maternal grandparents, Vance and Lyddie Roberts; and paternal grandparents, Bige Davidson and Minnie Allen.
