Dee Hill age 83 of Smithville passed away Sunday morning, March 26, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was born November 9, 1933 to her parents the late, Willis and Ruby Hudson Fussell. Dee worked many years at First American Title in Michigan, and also work at Ferodo in Smithville. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister-in-law: Betty Gora; brother-in-law: Clarence Ervin. She is leaving behind her husband Billy Joe Hill of Smithville; brother Bud (Martha) Fussell of Dickson; sister June Culpepper of Sterling Hts, MI.; and many many nieces and nephews who all loved her so dearly; sister-in-law: Bobbye Pack. Funeral services will be held 11:AM Wednesday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Joel Wood officiating and interment to follow at 3:PM at the Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery in Dickson, TN where she will be laid to rest beside her mother and father Willis and Ruby Fussell. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 2:PM until 7:PM and Wednesday 10:AM until the time of service at 11:AM. Judy Carol Burton
Judy Carol Burton age 61 of Silver Point passed away Sunday morning, March 26, 2017 at her daughter’s residence. She was born December 31, 1955 to her parents, the late William J. and Mildred D. Sutton Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Burton; sister, Sharon Holiday. She was a member of the Wolf Creek Baptist Church and a homemaker. Survivors include her daughter, Angela Hutchings of Silver Point; brother, Lillard”Yogi” Smith of Silver Point; sister, Altie Marie Tucker of Silver Point. Funeral services will be conducted 3 PM Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Herb Leftwich officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Joel David Billings
Joel David Billings age 67 of Copeland Ln. in Byrdstown, TN passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.
He was born February 14, 1950 in Dekalb Co., TN to William Clyde Billings and Ora Mae (Mahan) Billings. He was a member of the Smyrna Church and a carpenter.
Joel is survived by his Wife: Susan (Matheson) Billings of Byrdstown ; (7) Sisters: Sue Dearman ( Bill) of Miami, Florida , Loretta Sharitts of Tequesta, Florida , Rebecca Tucker of Murfreesboro , Kaye Fedak (David) of Murfreesboro, Sharon Hargrove (Chris) of Viola , Sarah Billings of Wilmington, North Carolina; and Elizabeth Napier (Marvin) of Smithville ; (2) Brothers: Lloyd Billings of Cookeville and Berle Billings (Mamie) of Smithville ; Mother-In-Law: Noema Matheson of Byrdstown ; Sister-In-Law: Dale Ann Ford (Terry) of Byrdstown. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Linda Adcock
Linda Adcock age 68 of Smithville passed away Saturday morning, March 25, 2017 at her residence. She was born May 8, 1948 to her parents, the late Frank Mathis and Geneva Vickers Mathis Judkins. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Dean Judkins. Linda was a faithful member of the Keltonburg Church of Christ for 45 years and was Head Teller at First Bank where she had served customers for over 36 years. She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 46 years, Billy Adcock of Smithville; daughter, Leah (Douglas) Jones of Franklin; grandson, Spencer Jones of Franklin; step-son, Darrell Adcock of Arkansas; 2 step-grandchildren, Ali Adcock of Arkansas and B.J. Adcock of Texas; mother, Geneva Judkins of Smithville; 2 sisters, Judy Craig of Gallatin and Debbie (Dickie) Lewis of Lebanon; brother, Teddy (Becky) Mathis of Alexandria; sister-in-law, Joann Wall of Smithville; special nephew, Dr. Danny Ford of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 1:PM Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Phillip Adcock and Bobby Cloyd officiating and interment will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Timothy Michael Corey
66 year old Timothy Michael Corey of Smithville died Thursday at St Thomas DeKalb Hospital. He was a Methodist and an employee of Tom’s Vending Machine Company. There will be no funeral or visitation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Evelyn Williams Corey and sister, Sandy Mayo. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Pamela Presley Corey of Smithville. One daughter, Pamela and Matthew Paul Cunningham of McMinnville. One granddaughter, Allison Cunningham of McMinnville. One sister, Sheryl and Bill Kelly of Washington. One brother, Kevin and Regina Corey of Smithville. Father and mother-in-law, Brother Robert and Eula Presley of Smithville. Hazel Cook
92 year old Hazel Cook of Smithville died Friday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Michael Carpenter and Thurman Seber will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from noon until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Clemmie Barrett; husband, Roy Cook; two great grandchildren, Jay Cook and Issac Williams; two great great grandchildren, Michael Hicks and Dillon Harwell; two sisters, Unice Barrett and Mary Jo Barrett; half brother, John B. Bailey and a half sister, Pearl Mathis. Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy George of Alexandria and Pam Young and Lisa Rhody both of Smithville. Three sons, Carl “Puggy” and Linda Cook of Alexandria, Joe and Brenda Cook of Watertown, Ronnie and Sue Cook of Smithville. Fifteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, twenty three great great grandchildren. Four sisters, Inez Farler of Dowelltown, Annette and Jerry Cripps of Alexandria, Polly and Bobby Bass of Mt. Juliet, and Nonnie Hunter of Ashland City. Jolanda Margaret Windisch Turner
Jolanda Margaret Windisch Turner, age 86, a McMinnville, TN resident and Erbendorf, Germany native was born March 27, 1930 and died March 19, 2017 at her residence following a sudden illness.
She was a retired employee of Georgia Girl Apparel in Smithville, TN, member of North Warren Church of Christ and daughter of the late Martin Packer and Teresa Margaret Herrachmann Windisch. Mrs. Turner was married January 19, 1954 to James Clinton Turner who preceded her in death on February 2, 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph Windisch and Anton Windisch; and sisters, Emmy Windisch and Analiese Elsner.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Bandy and Ruby and Bobby Thomason all of Smithville, TN, Diane Ferrell of Doweltown, TN and Connie and Dewayne Rackley of McMinnville; five grandsons, B.J. and Beth Thomason, Chris and Melinda Bandy, Anthony and Trena Ferrell, Craig Bandy and Clinton and Vickie Thomason all of Smithville; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several very special nieces, nephews and beloved dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in High’s Chapel with Mark Parkhurst, B.J. Thomason, Nathan Thomason and Bobby Thomason to officiate. Interment will follow in Woods Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at High’s.

Bettie Lee Sandlin
94 year old Bettie Lee Sandlin of Smithville died Monday at the Webb House. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a homemaker, and a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church for more than 70 years. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service at 3 p.m.. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Esther Childress Walls; her husband, Ewin Quentin Sandlin; and four brothers and four sisters. Survivors include three children, Eva and Mac Willoughby of Alexandria, Wanda and Jerry Scott of Smithville, and Freddy and Marica Sandlin of Smithville. Three grandchildren, Melanie Willoughby and Dana Richardson of Murfreesboro, Anthony and Dana Scott of Smithville, and Shandi Sandlin of Smithville. Two great grandchildren, Lauralee Richardson and Amber Simon of Murfreesboro. One expectant great grandchild of Shandi. Funeral services for Clara N. Billings, age 76 of Baxter, will be held on Sunday at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Brother Frank Davis will officiate at the service and family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, on Saturday from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and on Sunday from 1:00pm until time of services. Clara N. Billings was born on April 4, 1940 in Putnam County TN to the late Sam L. and Jessie May Barr Dunn.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Zion Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by; 2 Sons, David Eugene Billings and Daniel Lloyd Billings, 2 Sisters, Myrtis Elrod and Margie Hickey, 1 Brother, Bill Dunn.
She is survived by; Husband, Lloyd Billings of Baxter, 1 Son, Donald Billings of Missouri, 5 Grandchildren, Christopher Billings, Joshua Billings, Daniel Valdiva, Andrew Billings and Alesha Kollomorgen, 14 Great grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

76 year old Alton Donald Haggard of Smithville died Thursday at Vanderbilt Hospital. He was a member of the Jefferson Community Church and a retired truck driver with A.H. Farms. The funeral will be Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jason Nunley will officiate and burial will be in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Audra Brown Haggard; wife, Dorothy Haggard; a brother, James Haggard; and a great grandchild, Bryson Braseel. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Linder and Meresa and Jeff Winchester all of Smithville. Two sons, Donald and Connie Haggard of Smithville and Michael and Sandra Haggard of McMinnville.
