67 year old Robert Gerald Smith of Dowelltown died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital after a sudden illness. He was a native of Lawrence County, retired from the music industry, an Army veteran, and of the Methodist faith. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Loretto Memorial Chapel. Steve Vanhooser will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Loretto Memorial Chapel. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Smith. Survivors include his mother, Georgia Smith of Loretto. A son, Robert Smith and his wife Kandice of Mount Juliet. Three daughters, Tracy Lynn Simpson and husband Greg of Ethridge, Christy Delaine Dietz and husband Gary of Lavergne, and Shasta Nicole Smith of Clearwater, Florida. John Thomas Cantrell, Sr.

78 year old John Thomas Cantrell, Sr. of Smithville died Friday at Centennial Medical Center. He was by faith a Primitive Baptist, a carpenter, and a brick layer. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Paul Violet will officiate and burial will be in the Young Bend Cemetery. 57 year old Linda Bell Wright of Smithville died Thursday at Baptist Hospital. She was a Baptist and an employee of Kingston Timer. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jimmy Wright and Tommy Taylor will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 83 year old Clarence Loring Vickers of Smithville died Sunday at the Beulah Edging Home in Paducah, Kentucky. He was a Baptist and owner of Vickers Nursery. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Junior Hibdon will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Author and Mary Vickers; a daughter, Elaine Vickers Allen; and a sister, Virginia Ricketts. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mildred Britton Vickers of Smithville. 66 year old Judy Love Maxwell of Smithville died Friday at Hendersonville. She was a retired property manager with the state of Tennessee and was employed with Home Depot. She was also a Pentecostal. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her father Van Love. Survivors include two sons, Scott Maxwell of Alabama and Todd Maxwell of Goodlettsville. Her mother, Inez Love of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Ashley Maxwell and Anthony Maxwell both of Alabama. 48 year old Charles Edward Vanatta of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church. 87 year old Lorene Parker of Liberty died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Leonard Herman will officiate and burial will be in the Cripps Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Parker; her parents, Charlie and Maudie Barrett; and a great niece. Survivors include two sisters, Aline and husband Arron Faulkner of Murfreesboro and Mary and husband Gene Taylor of Statesville. 72 year old Marilyn J. Tague of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker. Tague was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tague and her parents, Austin and Ethel Godfrey Howe. Survivors include four children, Trina Hill and husband Rick Fosnough of Smithville, Raymond Tague of Smithville, Sandra and husband DiBattiste of Kentucky, and Gary and wife Terry Tague of Indianapolis, Indiana. 79 year old Gladys Linder of Smithville died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Linder; her parents, Alvie and Bertha Pedigo Ashburn; a daughter, Reba Fiffer; a son, Dolton Linder; three grandchildren, Mary Sue Hodges, Jerry Lee Taylor, and Bryon Linder; four brothers, J.B., James, Harley, and Silas Ashburn; and a sister, Willie Bee Moore. 83 year old Jean N. Alexander of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Baptist and a bookkeeper for Smithville Motors from 1958 until 1986.
