82 year old Gene Allen Morgan of Cookeville died Tuesday at Cookeville Regional Hospital. He was a retired tool and die manager and a member of the First Methodist Church of Cookeville. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Max Mayo will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from noon until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell and Opal Harrish Morgan and a brother, Richard Morgan. Survivors include his wife, Mary Snow Morgan of Cookeville. One son, Jeffery and wife Tracy Morgan of North Carolina. Two daughters, Monica and husband Steve Elam of Ohio and Marille Morgan of Florida. Three sisters, Nancy Compton, Caroline Melvin, and Jannie Huff all of Ohio. 81 year old Willie Gray Roller of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a housewife and a Baptist. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Robert Burns will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. Roller; her parents, Allan and Molly Hill Mosley; a grandchild, Amber Adcock; great grandchildren, Josh Reece, Jeremy Richardson, Jr. and Brandy Martin; brothers, Bennie, Woodrow, Hill and Billy Ray Mosley; and a sister, Gertrude Collier. 75 year old James Ralph Williams of Watertown died Sunday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. Born in Smith County, Williams was a heavy equipment operator. 62 year old James “Lucky” Cantrell died Sunday at a residence in Smithville. He was a Baptist, carpenter, a U.S. Army and Vietnam Veteran, and a member of the National Rifle Association. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bobby Thompson, B.J. Thompson, and Ben Simpson will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Effie Pack Cantrell; brothers, Ray Cantrell and Hamp Cantrell, Jr.; a sister, Dorothy Hutchins; and his ex-wife Rita Cantrell. Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Tarango of Dowelltown. A step-son, Dewayne Greer of Crossville. Grandchildren, Sebastian, Alexandria, and Tristian Tarango. 77 year old Billie Jean Hill of McMinnville died Wednesday at the Woodbury Nursing Center of an extended illness. She was a registered nurse. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the service at the church. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Hill. 82 year old J.C. Ellis of Watertown died Tuesday at Lebanon Health and Rehab. He was born in DeKalb County, served in World War II and an Army paratrooper, and he was retired from Precision Rubber. Ellis was also a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Comer Lodge #417 F &AM. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. David Hesson will officiate and burial will be in Wilson County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Vennie Caldwell Reeder and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by two daughters, Marl Ann and husband Jim Reynolds of Hermitage and Peggy and husband Oscar Hendrix of Smithville. One son, Joe Reeder of Old Hickory.
