Gary Wayne Cantrell

28 year old Gary Wayne Cantrell of Liberty died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was an employee of Federal Mogul, member of the Old Fashion Freewill Baptist Church, and he was a firefighter of the Liberty Station. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David Lawson will officiate and burial will be in the Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Tina Ashford Cantrell. He is survived by his wife, Felisha Vanatta Cantrell; one son, Dakoda Wayne Cantrell; and one daughter, Aveya Grace Cantrell all of Liberty. His mother, Edna Ashford of Smithville. Three sisters, Rhonda King of McMinnville and Barbara Green and Gail Mullican of Smithville. One brother, Jerry Ashford of Smithville. Grace Louise Norton

88 year old Grace Louise Norton of Smithville died Friday at her residence. She was a housewife, homemaker, and a member of the Keltonburg Church of Christ. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Phillip Adcock and Teddy Jones will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Arrie Brown Duncan; brothers, Bay, Fud, Fred, Carl, and Hill Duncan; and sisters, Pat Cole, Reba Ray, and Laura Cole. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Arvil Norton of Smithville. Children, Russell and his wife Margaret Norton, Jackie and his wife Lisa Norton, and Brenda Kay and her husband Danny Cantrell all of Smithville. Ten grandchildren, Crystal, Brandi, Nioka, and Annieka Norton, Dwayne Foster, Tonia Pack, Jacob and Olivia Norton, and Bryan and Heather Cantrell. Eleven great grandchildren. One brother, B.L. Phillip Reed Keith

64 year old Phillip Reed Keith of McMinnville died Thursday at River Park Hospital. He was a retired factory worker. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudie and Carnell Taylor Keith; a sister, Brenda Hildreth; and a brother, Carl Keith. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Keith of McMinnville. Eugene Milton Bell

62 year old Eugene Milton Bell of Smithville died Thursday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was employed by Jack Barnes Plumbing. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton Bell. Survivors include a daughter, Brittney Bell of Smithville. John Edward Bratten

76 year old John Edward Bratten of Liberty died Thursday at his residence. He was a contractor, and active member of the N.R.A. and he was in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1953. He was born in Detroit, Michigan. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. David Mahan will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Bratten was preceded in death by his parents, John and Iona Bratten. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Melba Louise Bratten of Liberty. A son, Terry Strayn of Smithville. Roy Wesley Fults

73 year old Roy Wesley Fults of Liberty died Monday of an extended illness at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a Warren County native, a stock yard worker, and a member of the Auburntown Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Bobby Colvert will officiate and burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. Fults was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Bell Rowland Fults and his brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Cricket Duggin, Jimmy Fults, and Sue Bullard. He is survived by his children, Russell and his wife Helen Fults of DeKalb County, Ricky and his wife Janie Fults of Cannon County, Wesley “Bull” Fults of Cannon County, Jackie Fults of DeKalb County, Diane and her husband Jeff Hardin of DeKalb County, Patsy Fults and Tommy Johnson of Cannon County, and Jeffery and his wife Sandy Fults of DeKalb County. The mother of his children, Martha Fults of DeKalb County. A sister, Edith and her husband Eddie Roy Judkins of DeKalb County. 89 year old Ruby Lorell Adcock of Smithville died Monday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a retired garment factory worker and a member of the New Union The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bryan Jones will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Bertie Walker Adcock and brothers, Thanuel, Clemon, and Truman Adcock. She is survived by a sister, Maureen Adcock of Smithville. Nieces, Geneva Knowles and Thelma Adcock both of Smithville and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins. 88 year old Dorothy Agnes Temple of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a retired hairdresser, member of Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church, and the Order of Saint Frances. The funeral will be Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. B.J. Thomason and Father David Cooney will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery in Massachusetts. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the service at 4:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Temple, Sr.; parents, Joseph and Mira Cashman; a brother, Johnny Cashman; and a sister, Evie Cashman. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard, Jr. and Norma Temple of Smithville. A daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Vaughn Skinner of Massachusetts. 73 year old Anna Faye Walker of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker. The family has chosen direct cremation and there will be no visitation. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Lee and Bunola Walker. Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Faye Hicks of Smithville. One son, Blake Martin of Georgia. Four grandchildren, Shayne and Natasha Judkins and Shana Judkins all of Smithville, Amy and Chris Ting of Georgia, and Christina Kinkin of Chicago. 86 year old Georgia Villa Camp McCarver of the Cagle community near Dunlap, died at the home of her daughter,Carolyn Powers, in Smithville on Wednesday. Mrs. McCarver was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Rev. Jessie Eugene McCarver, parents, Arthur and Grace Hickey Camp, sisters, Nadean Camp, Doshie Smith, Vira Layne, brothers, Millard Camp, Hershel Camp, and Newt Camp, Survivors include; children, Ethelene Rust of McMinnville, Jessie (Anthia) McCarver of Tracy City, Carolyn Powers of Smithville, Claymon and Dee McCarver of Rock Island, Marshall and Kathie Ann McCarver of Chattanooga, and Kathy Cantrell of McMinnville, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren 1 great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
