52 year old Deanna Kirby of the Green Hill Community died Thursday at Stones River Hospital in Woodbury of injuries in an automobile accident. She was born in Warren County and was a homemaker. Kirby was preceded in death by her parents, I.D. and Georgia Magnolia Haley Adcock. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Wayne Cantrell will officiate and burial will be in the Mount View Cemetery. The Kirby family will receive friends on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home. 73 year old Katie Frances Cantrell of McMinnville died Wednesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville of a brief illness. She was a DeKalb County native, a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of High Funeral Home in McMinnville. Paul Roberts will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Madie Young Pack; a daughter, Penny Cantrell; three sisters, Betty Jo Redmon, Lear Wright, and Vestie Green; and three brothers, D.G., Charles, and Franklin Pack. She is survived by her husband, Dennie Cantrell of McMinnville. 93 year old Ernestine V. Patterson of Smithville died Tuesday of an extended illness at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Cannon County native, a housewife, stove manufacturer, and a member of the Church of Christ. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Royce Martin will officiate and burial will be in the Melton Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dearman Patterson. 41 year old Robert Wayne Davidson of Smithville died Saturday at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Lawn Funeral in Sparta and burial will be in the Bonham Cemetery in DeKalb County. One son, Robert Wayne Davidson, Jr. of Smithville. His mother, Brenda Lou Higham of Sparta. His father, Asher Davidson of Sparta. A brother, Steve Davidson and his wife Sherry of Sparta. 90 year old Josie Marjorie Love of the Fountain Grove Community of Warren County died Wednesday at her residence. 96 year old Doris Pearl Gard of Smithville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Allen Chapel Methodist Church. A graveside service will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Gard Cemetery. Tim Ferguson will officiate. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward and Rosella Loy Bonney; her husband, Cleo Gard; a son, Ronnie Gard; and a daughter, Karen Kay Gard. Survivors include a daughter, Sherri Gard; one son, Darwin and his wife Wanda Gard; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Gard all of Smithville. Eleven grandchildren, Denise Holcomb, Karla Warrick, Michelle Roller all of Smithville, Bill Gard of Murfreesboro, Tim Dixon and Lori Wall of Arizona, Wanda Kinnard of Cookeville, Kathy Neal of Smithville, Betsy Smith of Alexandria, Linda Thomas of Smithville, and Janet Cecil of Arrington, Tennessee. 85 year old Johnny Crockett McGuire of Nashville died Tuesday at Southern Hills Medical Center. He was a mechanic and a Baptist. 92 year old Virgil Lee (Bud) Kirby of Smithville died Sunday at NHC Healthcare Center. He was a retired maintenance worker for the DeKalb County School System and a member and deacon of the Mount Hope The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Savage and Dolly Cope Kirby; a sister, Ruetta Close; and a brother, Clyde Kirby. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Martella “Tee” Kirby. Three children, Doris Fuson, Deloy and his wife Diane Kirby, and Darrell and his wife Jewell Kirby all of Smithville. 73 year old Paul Emberton of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member and deacon of the Sink Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a farmer and a nurseryman. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bobby Muncey and George Roberts will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Emberton; brothers, Harvey, Dean, Jessie, and Charlie Emberton; and sisters, Virginia Young, Louise Hendrix, and Jo Barber. 76 year old William Arnold Selvey of Smithville died Thursday at Centennial Medical Center. He was a retired iron worker with TVA and a member of the Smithville Church of God. A graveside service will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Selvey and Elsie Gave. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Selvey. Five daughters, Yvonne Anderson, Sherry Hensley, Gail and her husband Ronald Baines, Sallie Maples, and Norma Rice all of Smithville. Seven grandchildren, Dana Davis, Corey and Eric Dickens, Jason and Caleb Baines, and Whitney Maples all of Smithville, and Daniel Evans of Georgia. Six great grandchildren.
