64 year old Troy Lee Edge of McMinnville died Thursday at Stones River Hospital. He was a retired factory worker and a member of the Keltonburg Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Lash Rice will officiate and burial will be in the Burton-Ponder Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Harden Edge, Sr. and Mary Luna Edge; two brothers, Hobert and Roy Edge; and a sister, Nelda Sue Jones. Survivors include his wife, Frances Delores Edge of McMinnville. One daughter, Tammy and her husband Jordan Beddies of Paris, Tennessee. One son, Tony Edge of McMinnville. Four grandchildren, McKella, Matilyn and Brock Beddies of Paris, Tennessee and Aaron Edge of McMinnville. One brother, Ernest, Jr. and his wife Kathy Edge of Smithville. Elizabeth Smith

86 year old Elizabeth Smith of Smithville died Monday at the Meadows at Bellevue. She was a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School at the Snow Hill United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the WMU and was a former school teacher in DeKalb County. She and her husband, Othel Smith, owned and operated Smithville Furniture for 55 years. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Smithville First United Methodist Church. Terry Little and John Purdue will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the Smithville First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Othel Smith; her parents, Robert and Novella Knowles Pinegar; grandparents, Levi Dodd, Delila Webb Pinegar, Representative John Henry Savage, and Catherine Taylor Knowles; a daughter, Linda Smith; a brother, Ben Pinegar; and a brother-in-law, David Martin. Survivors include a daughter, Pier Vaughn of Franklin. Grandchildren, Shea and Anna Vaughn of Franklin. A sister, Jean Martin of Smithville and a niece, Delila and her husband Phillip Prater of Springfield, Virginia. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Annie Lee Parsley

95 year old Annie Lee Parsley of Smithville died Thursday at NHC. She was a retired Stanley dealer and a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Billy Hawkins, Jr. and Chuck Olson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent Lee and Josie Parker Barnes; husbands, McKinley Baker and Ammon Parsley; four brothers, Otis, Clifton, Solon and Luther Barnes; four sisters, Eller Carter, Janie Carter, Lorene Tramel, and Maudie Pack; and a daughter-in-law, Sarah Hawkins. She is survived by a son, Billy, Sr and his wife Dianne Hawkins of Smithville. Three grandchildren, Billy. Jr. and his wife Trudie Hawkins of Washington State, June Hawkins of Nashville, and Sandy and her husband Mack Harney of Smithville. Four great grandchildren, Sarah and Ben Hawkins of Washington State, John and Jessica Harney of Smithville, and dearest friend Tony Baker of Alexandria. 67 year old Naomi Ruth Jones of Smithville died Monday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Faith Chapel Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Steve Warren will officiate and burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Lee and Ruth Hill Green; a daughter, Shelia Davenport; a grandson, Michael Pylant; four brothers, Tony Green, Shirley Green, Mark Green, and Shelton Green. Survivors include two daughters, Nellie Crotty of Smithville, Connie Sue Wagner of Sparta. Three sons, Victor Jones of Liberty, Glen and Lynn Jones of Smithville. 61 year old Peggy Gail Turner of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Tabernacle. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Garry McBride and Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. 92 year old Mrs. Jessie Blackwell Pruitt of Smithville and formerly of Sparta died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta. Burial will be in the Peeled Chestnut Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Survivors include children, Janice Miller and her husband Willie, Inetta Taylor and husband Ron, Wanda Troglen, Brenda Fullerton and husband Scott, Waymon Blackwell and wife Mary, and Harold Blackwell and Jerry Blackwell. 63 year old Bobby Cantrell of Lebanon died Tuesday morning at the Summit Medical Center at Hermitage. He was an employee of Prospect and a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Donald Owens, David Mahan, and Chuck Groover will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. 37 year old Tracy Darrel Cassity of Smithville died Saturday at his residence. He was born in DeKalb County and was a construction worker. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Junior Hibdon will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathy Smith; grandparents, Glen Smith, Tom Moore Cassity; and step grandfather, H.C. Duke. 76 year old Phyllis Carol Goldizen of Sparta died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Bob Goldizen. Four daughters, Phyllis and her husband Stephen Schwing, Becky and her husband Earl Hibbard, Bridgett and her husband Junior Roak, and Wanda and her husband Bill Wilymacky. Two sons, Mike and his wife Debbie Goldizen and Bobby and his wife Lynn Goldizen. Sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren survive. 46 year old Vickie Ann Bain Herndon died Tuesday at Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage. She was born in DeKalb County. Herndon was also a garment factory worker.
