Mollie “Mamie Cile” Lucille Self

95 year old Mollie “Mamie Cile” Lucille Self of Alexandria died Wednesday at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. She was born in DeKalb County, a retired cook for Metro Nashville Schools, and a member of the Linwood Pentecostal Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Danny Hunt, Cory Turner, Roger Grisham, and Walter George will officiate and burial will be in the Wilson County Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Fitts and Susie McBride Fitts; her husbands, Denton Neal and Charlie Self. Four sisters and a brother also preceded her in death. She is survived by daughters, Annie and her husband Bratten Turner of Alexandria and Ina and her husband Foster Moore of Lebanon. A step-son, Robert and his wife Barbara Self of Smithville. A step-daughter, Irene Koesis of Tampa, Florida. Seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and fourteen great great grandchildren. Mary Etta Dean Rankhorn

77 year old Mary Etta Dean Rankhorn of Smithville died Tuesday at Centennial Medical Center. She was a retired cook at DeKalb Middle School where she worked for 26 years. She was also a member of the New Union Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at New Union Baptist Church. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. and Garry McBride will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 10:00 a.m.until 11:00 a.m. at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Quitman and Lorene Williamson Keathley; her husband, Shadie Rankhorn; one son, Earl Dean Rankhorn; and a brother, Payton Hugene Keathley. She is survived by a daughter, Rhonda Rankhorn and a son, Jeff Rankhorn, both of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Shalimar Newport and Jacob Rankhorn. 90 year old Eula Chisam Cantrell of Smithville died Tuesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. She was a member of the New Union The Baptist Church and a former member of the First Baptist Church at Old Hickory. She was also a member of the women’s quilting circle at New Union Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Anthony Pelham and Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Nicholas and Nancy Melvina Fisha Chisam and a sister, Hazel Chisam. Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Willie Atwood Cantrell of Smithville. Issac Kane Pedigo Williams, infant son of Joey and Brooke Williams of Smithville, died Monday at Centennial Medical Center. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. 85 year old Orvil Lee Jones of Smithville died Sunday at River Park Hospital in McMinnville. He was a Tool and Die worker and a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tenie and Inez Jones; two sons, Ted and Eddie Jones; two sisters, Carrie Moore and Frances McClain; and two brothers, Clarence and Shirley Jones. 92 year old Josie Maxwell of Florida and formerly of McMinnville died Friday in Lecanto, Florida of an extended illness. She was born in DeKalb County. Maxwell was also a homemaker. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Gardens of Memory in Smartt, Tennessee. John Pennington will officiate. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Josie Greer Pack; her husband, Grady M. Maxwell; and four sisters and three brothers. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Prentice and Dagmar Maxwell of Beverly Hills, Florida; Grady and Mary Ann Maxwell of Warner Robbins, Georgia; Larry and Frances Maxwell of Manchester; and Ted Maxwell and Margie Walker of Poinciana, Florida. 71 year old Pauline Fish of Smithville died Friday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Covenant Baptist Church. 91 year old Maggie Braswell of Dowelltown died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church. John Bill Evins

85 year old John Bill Evins of Smithville died Monday at the Webb House. He was a retired business owner of Smithville Builders Supply and a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Evins was also a former DeKalb County Trustee, former Smithville Alderman, former Smithville Mayor, former member of the WJLE Board of Directors, former board member of First National Bank, a deacon of the Smithville Cumberland Presbyterian Church during the 1950’s and 1960’s and a board member of the Smithville Electric System. He was also a World War II veteran and navigator on a Transport Aircraft. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Cheryl Foster will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his wife, Veta Evins; parents, William Sellars and Virgil Roosevelt Tramel Evins; grandson, John Richard Foster; and a sister, Frances Womack.
