56 year old Donna Kay Williams of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a retired nurse and a member of the Bright Hill Methodist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. John Purdue and Mike Satterfield will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cloe Parsley Cripps. Survivors include her husband, Larry Williams; Two daughters, Regina and her husband Josh Satterfield and Jayma and her husband Nathan Dowell; One son, Justin Cripps; Three grandchildren, Destry, Laradon, and Izayah Dowell; and her father, James “Curly” Cripps, all of Smithville. J.B. Redmon

93 year old J.B. Redmon of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a retired employee of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home where he worked for 40 years. He was also a member of the Smithville Church of Christ. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dan Gulley and Tim Woodward will officiate and burial will be in the Keltonburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Redmon was preceded in death by his parents, John and Willie Cantrell Redmon; a brother, Chris Redmon; and sisters, Bertie Magness and Ruby Redmon. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth Wall Redmon of Smithville. A brother, Luther Redmon and family of Toledo, Ohio. Nephews, Tom and his wife LaWanda Magness of California, John Magness of Michigan, and Dan and his wife Linda Magness of Franklin. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Clara Janelle LaFever

85 year old Clara Janelle LaFever of Smithville died Tuesday at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. She was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church and a secretary at the courthouse. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur LaFever and her parents, Herman and Clara Calhoun Webb. Survivors include sons, Ray and his wife Genia LaFever of Nashville and Carlon and his wife Suzanne LaFever of Soddy Daisy. Grandchildren, Adrienne LaFever of Soddy Daisy and Rebecca LaFever of Chicago. Two sisters, Ina Ruth Bess and Jo Evelyn Underhill both of Smithville. Thellie Christine Allen

91 year old Thellie Christine Allen of Alexandria died Sunday at the Quality Care Nursing Home in Lebanon. She was a Wilson County native, a retired shirt factory worker, and an active member of the Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Liberty Hill Presbyterian Church. Tim Diffenderfer will officiate and burial will be in the Talley Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dossie B. and Thellie Lemons Sellars and her husband of 50 years, Wade Allen. Survivors include children, Bobbie Nell and her husband Jimmy Staley of Gallatin, Willie B. Allen of Donelson, and George Allen of Alexandria. David Lynn Nokes

59 year old David Lynn Nokes of Dowelltown died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a personal assistant to Dr. Joe Bryant. He was also a member of the Church of Christ. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Frances Foster will officiate and burial will be in Mount Arat Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Nokes was preceded in death by his parents and a son, William David Nokes. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Driver Nokes of Dowelltown. Two sons, Donald and his wife Candice Nokes of Lebanon and Joe and Jennifer Nokes of Smithville. One daughter, Crystal Lynn Nokes of Indiana. Eight grandchildren, Ayla, Kaitlin, Taylor, Derrick, Christopher, Jacob, Timothy, and Amy. One brother, Ernie Nokes of Smithville. Special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathy and Curtis Brown of Smithville. Johnny Pless Pinegar

69 year old Johnny Pless Pinegar of McMinnville died Saturday at Saint Thomas Hospital. He was a Baptist and was employed at Cumberland Valley Nursery. The funeral will be Monday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Webb Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Ethel Young Pinegar; two sisters, Hattie Rosien and Betty Jean Dyal; and two brothers, Frank and James Pinegar. Survivors include his wife, Claudena Smith Pinegar of McMinnville. One daughter, Patsy and her husband Elsalvadore Victoria of North Carolina. Three step daughters, Pam Johnson of Ohio, Eva Beal of Unionville, and Coleen Jones of McMinnville. Two step-sons, Ray Barrett of Sparta and Jeff Smith of Woodbury. Two grandsons, ten step grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and two brothers, Percy Pinegar of Smithville and Zeb Pinegar of McMinnville. Reverend Paul Clayton Sanders

68 year old Reverend Paul Clayton Sanders of Smithville died Friday at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville. He was a retired minister of the Smithville New Life United Pentecostal Church where he preached for 21 years. He served as a District Board Member of the Tennessee District United Pentecostal Church for 12 years. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Smithville New Life United Pentecostal Church. Ministerial colleagues will officiate and burial will be Monday at the Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Iuka, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. all at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmage and Helen Barnett Sanders and a sister, Lois Grissom. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gayra Sanders of Smithville. One son, Jonathan and his wife Charlotte Sanders of Cookeville. Three granddaughters, Kelsey Sanders of Algood, and Amber and Ashley Greenlee of Cookeville. One brother, David Sanders of Mississippi. Sylvia Estes Redmon

75 year old Sylvia Estes Redmon of Watertown died Thursday at her residence. She was a DeKalb County native, a member of the Watertown Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a retired registered nurse, and a graduate of the Baptist School of Nursing where she received the Florance Nightingale Award in Nursing. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Watertown Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Donald Owens and Rodger McCann will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until noon. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Kate Sullivan Estes and a brother, Don Estes. Survivors include children, Scotty Redmon and Kathy Phillips both of Watertown, and Sammy and his wife Teresa Redmon of Murfreesboro. A son-in-law, Troy Phillips of Watertown. Helen Virginia Fuson Matthews

83 year old Helen Virginia Fuson Matthews of Madisonville and formerly of Smithville died Wednesday at her residence. She was a member of the Smithville First United Methodist Church; a member of the DeKalb County Retired Teachers Association and the Madisonville Senior Citizens Center. Matthews was also a retired teacher and a Home Demonstration agent for the Tennessee Agricultural Extension Service. She taught school at Pikeville and at DeKalb County High School. She graduated from DeKalb County High School in 1943 and from the University of Tennessee in 1947. The funeral will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Dr. John Purdue will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Toy Jackson, Sr. and Martha Frazier Fuson; a brother, Dr. Joe Fuson; and a sister, Jean Fuson Robinson. Survivors include children, Linda and her husband Jim Beatty of Madisonville and Michael and his wife Jill Matthews of Knoxville. Grandchildren, Chris and his wife Katie Beatty and Brian Matthews. Great grandchildren, Aden and Jameson Beatty. Brothers, Toy Fuson, Jr. and Don Fuson both of Brentwood. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 87 year old Sherman Love of Smithville died Tuesday at the Family Medical Center. He was a retired barber. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Riley and Hattie Mae Mullican Love; Eight brothers, Jennings, Alton, Robert, Vann, Cordell, Tommy, Danny, and Woodrow Love; and four sisters, Ollie Bond, Jewell Cantrell, Launer Davis, and Mae Ervin.
